PFL claim stuck in processing for 2+ months - any way to speed it up?

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. My PFL claim has been processing for over 2 months now. I filed it a while back and haven't heard anything. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time? Any advice on how to speed things up or at least get an update on the status? I'm starting to worry that something went wrong with my application.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I waited almost 3 months for mine to process. It's ridiculous how long it takes. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating. How many times did you have to call before you got someone?

Honestly, I lost count. I think I called like 50 times over a couple of weeks. It's a nightmare.

50 times?! That's insane. There's gotta be a better way. Has anyone tried going to an office in person?

I found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit? Has anyone else tried this?

Yeah, it's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've heard of this service. How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than constantly redialing!

2 months is actually not that bad from what I've seen. Some people wait 4-6 months! The system is completely overwhelmed. 😩

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. Also, make sure you didn't miss any requests for additional info in your mail or email.

Thanks for the tip! I'll double-check my account and go through my emails again. Fingers crossed I didn't miss anything important.

Pro tip: contact your local state representative or senator's office. They can often help expedite these claims. I did this and got my issue resolved in a week!

This is great advice! 💯 I did the same thing when my UI claim was stuck. They have special contacts at these agencies.

How do you even find out who your local rep is? I'm not very political lol

Just google '[your state] find my representative'. Most states have websites where you can enter your address and it'll show you who represents you. Easy peasy!

Here's what I've learned from my experience and others I know: 1. Be persistent with calling. Early mornings tend to have shorter wait times. 2. Double-check all your submitted documents for errors. 3. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 4. Use the online portal to send messages if available. 5. Consider reaching out to your local government rep as mentioned by others. 6. If you're really desperate, some people have had luck contacting the agency through social media. 7. Make sure your employer has submitted all necessary paperwork on their end. 8. If you can afford it, services like Claimyr can help you get through. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits.

Totally agree. We pay into these programs our whole working lives, then when we need them, it's nothing but obstacles.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it gets attention faster than online submissions.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just be grateful these benefits exist at all? In many countries, you'd be SOL.

Found the bootlicker 🙄 Just because other places have it worse doesn't mean we can't expect better.

I'm just saying, a little perspective can help with the frustration. But yeah, the system definitely needs improvement.
