PFL claim pending for 2 months, sent all docs. Any way to speed it up?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my PFL claim. It's been pending for almost 2 months now and I haven't heard anything back. I've sent all the required doctor's documentation through both mail and fax. Has anyone else experienced such long wait times? Any advice on how to speed up the process or at least get an update on the status?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. It took them forever to process my claim. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes that can help move things along.

•I've been trying to call, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold for hours 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Yeah, basically. They use some kind of automated system to navigate the phone menu and wait on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. Super convenient!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications.

Two months?! That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡 I've been waiting for 3 months now. It's like they want us to give up.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about dealing with long PFL claim processing times: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all communications, including dates you sent documents and any calls you've made. 2. Follow up regularly: Call at least once a week to check on your claim status. Be persistent but polite. 3. Contact your local representative: Sometimes they can help expedite the process. 4. Double-check your application: Make sure you didn't miss any required information or documents. 5. Use multiple contact methods: Try email, fax, and mail to ensure your documents are received. 6. Consider filing a complaint: If it's been excessively long, file a formal complaint with the department. 7. Join support groups: Look for Facebook groups or forums where people share tips and experiences. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself!

Have you tried faxing your documents again? Sometimes they "lose" them and won't tell you unless you ask 🙄

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - my claim has been pending for 6 weeks. One thing that helped me was requesting a callback through their online portal instead of trying to call directly. You can schedule it for a specific time window and they actually call you back (usually within the timeframe they promise). Also, make sure you're checking your mail regularly - sometimes they send requests for additional documentation that can easily get missed. Hope this helps and you get some movement on your claim soon!
