PFL claim stuck in processing for 2+ months - What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. My PFL claim has been processing for over 2 months now. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait? I'm starting to worry that something might be wrong with my application. Any advice on what I should do next or how to check on the status?

Salim Nasir

Ugh, I feel your pain. I waited almost 3 months for mine to process. It's ridiculous how long they make us wait. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating. How many times did you have to call before you got someone on the line?

Honestly, I lost count. I think I called like 50 times over a couple of weeks. It's a total nightmare 😫

50 times?! That's insane. There's gotta be a better way. Has anyone found a trick to get through faster?

2 months is actually not that bad compared to some stories I've heard. My cousin's been waiting for 4 months now. The system is completely broken 🤦‍♂️

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. It's worth a shot if you haven't looked recently.

Yeah, I've been checking obsessively. No updates there either. It just says 'processing' 😞

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Seems kinda sketchy to pay for something like that.

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

How long did you have to wait once you used the service? Did they actually connect you to a real person?

It took about an hour, but yeah, I got through to an actual human who could help. Way better than spending all day redialing!

Here's what I did to finally get my claim processed: 1. Gathered all my documents (pay stubs, doctor's notes, etc.) 2. Wrote a detailed letter explaining my situation 3. Faxed everything to their office (yes, fax still works!) 4. Followed up with daily calls 5. Contacted my local state representative for help It took about a week after I did all this, but it finally got moving. Don't give up!

LMAO 🤣 Maybe we should all start training pigeons. Could be a new business opportunity!

Careful, EDD might start charging a pigeon processing fee 🙄

I'm in the same boat, its been 10 weeks for me. This whole system is a joke. How are we supposed to survive while they take their sweet time?

Pro tip: If you can, try calling right when they open. I got through on my third try doing this. Good luck!
