Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Anyone else feel like they're trapped in a kafka-esque nightmare dealing with EDD? It's like, the more I try to fix my claim, the more messed up it gets 🤡

Just went through this last month. One thing nobody told me: if you're planning to take your leave in chunks (like I did), make sure you clarify that upfront. It can affect how they process your claim.
Does anyone know if you can apply for PFL if youre self-employed? Asking for my brother whos a freelancer and just had twins 👶👶
I think self-employed people can opt into SDI coverage, which would then make them eligible for PFL. But he'd need to have done that before the birth, I'm pretty sure.

Pro tip: If you do end up owing money, ask about a payment plan. They're usually pretty flexible about it.

Have you checked if your employer submitted all the necessary paperwork? Sometimes the holdup is on their end and EDD is waiting for info from them.

Oof, been there done that. Got my PFL after 4 months of calling and begging. Hang in there, buddy. You'll get your money eventually... probably when you don't even need it anymore 🙃
