Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Just went through this last month. One thing nobody told me: if you're planning to take your leave in chunks (like I did), make sure you clarify that upfront. It can affect how they process your claim.
Does anyone know if you can apply for PFL if youre self-employed? Asking for my brother whos a freelancer and just had twins 👶👶
I think self-employed people can opt into SDI coverage, which would then make them eligible for PFL. But he'd need to have done that before the birth, I'm pretty sure.

Protip: If you're really desperate, reach out to your local state representative. They sometimes have connections and can help speed things up.

Have you checked if your employer submitted all the necessary paperwork? Sometimes the holdup is on their end and EDD is waiting for info from them.

Oof, been there done that. Got my PFL after 4 months of calling and begging. Hang in there, buddy. You'll get your money eventually... probably when you don't even need it anymore 🙃
