Tips for filing EDD bonding leave claim? Need advice ASAP!

Hey everyone, I'm about to file for bonding leave and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Does anyone have any tips on what I should focus on when I talk to the agent? I want to make sure I don't miss anything important.

Congrats on the new addition to your family! šŸŽ‰ When I filed for bonding leave, these were the key things I made sure to cover: • Clearly explain your desired leave schedule (are you taking it all at once or splitting it up?) • Double-check your eligibility and what documents you need to submit • Ask about how your benefits might be affected, especially if you're planning multiple leave periods • Get clarity on the payment schedule and amounts • Find out if there's a waiting period before benefits kick in Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much! This is super helpful. I'm thinking of splitting up my leave - do you know if that complicates things?

Splitting up the leave can be a bit more complex, but it's doable. Just make sure you're crystal clear about your plans when you talk to the agent. They might need to process multiple claims, so keep that in mind. Also, ask about any potential gaps in coverage between leave periods.

It's not that bad if you have all your ducks in a row before you call. Just be prepared and patient!

Quick tip: write down all your questions before you call. It's easy to forget stuff when you're on the phone with them.

Anyone know if the bonding leave rules have changed recently? I heard something about extended benefits but idk if that's true

I think that was just a proposal, don't think it actually passed. But def ask the agent to make sure you're getting the most up-to-date info!

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Pro tip: if you can, try to call first thing in the morning when they open. The wait times are usually shorter then.

This! I always aim for like 5 minutes after they open. Way less frustrating.

anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? šŸ¤” like why does it have to be so complicated

Preach! šŸ™Œ Sometimes I think they make it hard on purpose so fewer people claim benefits

Guys, come on. It's not a conspiracy. It's just a big, complex system. Sure, it could be better, but they're not out to get us.

Random question: does anyone know if you can use bonding leave for adopting a pet? Asking for a friend... šŸ‘€
