PFL application stuck for 4+ weeks, no benefits or updates. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my PFL application. It's been over a month since I applied and I still haven't received any benefits. My wife is in the same boat too. We haven't gotten any notices or updates. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what to do next?

I found a way to solve PFL application delays and frustration, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omYLScwxYzU

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

30 mins? Lucky you! I was on hold for 3 hours last week 😭

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about an hour.

$20 tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Beats wasting hours trying to get through myself.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL: • Processing times can vary wildly, especially during busy periods • Sometimes applications get stuck in the system without any notification • It's crucial to follow up if you haven't heard anything after 2-3 weeks • Keep all your documentation handy, they might ask for additional info • If possible, use their online portal to check your claim status • Don't be afraid to escalate to a supervisor if you're not getting answers Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system can be a real pain sometimes.

Guys, let's not assume malice. The system is just outdated and overwhelmed.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my rep is?

Just google '[your city] state representative'. They usually have contact info on their website.

OP, make sure you and your wife didn't accidentally apply for the same type of leave. That can cause delays.

Anyone else notice how the wait times have gotten worse since covid? It's like they never staffed back up šŸ™„
