PFL application stuck pending after DI transition - online benefit amount blank, notice received in mail. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my PFL application. I just finished up my disability for pregnancy that ended on 11/12, and I applied for PFL right after on 11/13. I got a notice of computation in the mail for PFL, but when I check online, it still says my account is pending and the benefit amount is blank. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's been a few weeks now and I'm getting worried. Any advice on what to do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. The online system can be so frustrating. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes talking to a real person can help speed things up.

•I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I managed to get through after trying for days!

•Calling is useless tbh. I spent hours on hold and got nowhere. There's gotta be a better way 😤

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? 🤔

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about an hour.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Saved me hours of frustration and got my issue resolved.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your documents. Make sure you have everything they might ask for. 2. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence pays off. 3. Check your spam folder. Sometimes important emails end up there. 4. If you can, go to an EDD office in person. It's a hassle, but can be faster. 5. Write down your claim number and have it ready when you call. 6. Be polite but firm when you talk to them. Don't let them brush you off. Hang in there! The system is slow, but it'll work out eventually.

have you checked your mail carefully? sometimes they send requests for additional info that look like junk mail lol. i almost missed mine and it delayed my claim for weeks 🤦♀️

This happened to me too! It's because of the transition from DI to PFL. You need to call and make sure they linked your claims properly. It's a common issue but they can fix it pretty quick once you get someone on the phone.

•Why is it always on us to fix THEIR mistakes? 🙄 The whole system needs an overhaul.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite claims. Worth a shot if you're really stuck!

Plot twist: what if we all showed up at the EDD office dressed as clowns? Maybe then they'd take us seriously 🤡

•Careful, they might hire us to run the place. Couldn't do much worse than the current management 😂

Hey Connor! I just went through this exact same situation a few months ago. The blank benefit amount online is super common when transitioning from DI to PFL - it's like their system gets confused. Since you already got the notice of computation in the mail, that's actually a good sign! It means they've calculated your benefits. The online portal just takes forever to update sometimes. I'd definitely try calling first thing in the morning like Keisha suggested, but also keep checking your mail for any follow-up requests. In my case, it took about 3-4 weeks total but once it went through, I got all the backpay. Hang in there! 🤞
