PFL claim ghosted - sent form & birth certificate 2 weeks ago, no confirmation or payment. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my PFL claim. I sent in the form and birth certificate for my new baby over two weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything back. No confirmation, no payment, nothing. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm starting to get worried because bills are piling up and I really need that money. Any advice on what I should do next or how to get in touch with someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've been trying to call, but the wait times are insane. I was on hold for 2 hours yesterday before I had to hang up for work 😩

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through!

•Or try calling at like 4:55pm. Sometimes they stay on a bit later to finish up calls.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•It does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about an hour.

•$20 tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone 🤔

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Saved me hours of frustration and I finally got my issue resolved.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all forms you've sent and note down dates. 2. Try calling again. Use the trick others mentioned about timing. 3. If calling fails, send a follow-up letter via certified mail. This creates a paper trail. 4. Contact your local state representative. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. 5. Check your online account if you have one. Sometimes updates are posted there. 6. Be persistent but polite. The staff are probably overwhelmed. Hang in there! The system is frustrating but you'll get through it eventually.

Not to be that guy, but did you double check that you filled out the form correctly? I made a stupid mistake on mine and it delayed everything by a month 🤦♂️

Anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get what we're entitled to? Like, we're already stressed with a new baby, and then we gotta deal with this bs? smh

Hey, congrats on the new baby! Sorry you're dealing with this stress. If it makes you feel any better, I had a similar issue last year and it all worked out eventually. Sending positive vibes your way! ❤️
