Missed EDD call about PFL application - What to do next?
Hey everyone, I just submitted my PFL application and missed a call from the EDD about it. I'm trying to follow up to make sure they have everything they need. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do next?

Ugh, I hate when that happens! I've been there before. Have you tried calling them back? It's usually a nightmare to get through, but it's worth a shot.

•Yeah, I've been trying to call back but no luck so far. It's so frustrating! 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yep, totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to call yourself!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your voicemail and see if they left any specific instructions. 2. Log into your EDD account online and check for any new messages or updates. 3. If you can't find any info there, try calling them back at 1-877-238-4373. 4. Be prepared with your application number and any other relevant info. 5. If you can't get through, consider using the online contact form on the EDD website. Remember, persistence is key! Don't give up, and good luck!

•This is great advice. I'd also add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. It'll save you headaches later.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in your account.

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out they needed additional documentation. Check your online account, there might be a message there you missed.

Anyone else notice that the EDD seems to be getting worse lately? I swear it used to be easier to get ahold of someone...

•Totally agree. I think they're understaffed and overwhelmed. Doesn't make it any less frustrating for us tho 😤

Don't panic! This happens more often than you'd think. When they call, it's usually just to verify some details or ask for additional documentation. Here's what worked for me: try calling the general PFL line at 1-877-238-4373 first thing in the morning (like 8 AM sharp). If that doesn't work, you can also try the SDI line at 1-800-480-3287. In the meantime, log into your EDD account online and check for any pending tasks or messages. Sometimes they'll send you a notice through the portal even if they tried calling. The key is to respond quickly once you do connect with them. Good luck! 🤞

•This is super helpful advice! I'm new to the PFL process and was wondering - when you say "respond quickly once you connect," about how long do they usually give you to provide additional documentation if they need it? I want to make sure I'm prepared with everything ready to go.
