PFL Claim Submitted 6 Weeks Ago - No Response from EDD. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my PFL claim. I submitted the form about 6 weeks ago and I'm still waiting to hear back. I tried calling EDD today but they closed right before I could get through. Anyone else dealing with long wait times for their claims? Any advice on what I should do to prepare for when I finally get to talk to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting on my claim for almost 2 months now. It's so frustrating! Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes they update it there before they actually contact you.

Yeah, I've been checking online every day. No updates there either 😩 It's like they've forgotten about us!

Same boat here. The online status hasn't changed in weeks. Starting to wonder if anyone actually works at EDD 🙄

I swear they're understaffed or something. How hard can it be to process these claims? We're not asking for the moon here 🌙

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips for you: 1. Double-check all your documents. Make sure everything's signed and dated correctly. 2. Have your employment history ready. They might ask for details. 3. Keep a log of all your calls and attempts to contact them. It helps if you need to escalate. 4. Be patient but persistent. Call every day if you have to. 5. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member. Sometimes they can help push things along. Hang in there, it's a pain but you'll get through it!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely go through my docs again and start keeping a call log. Didn't even think about contacting my assembly member!

This is gold 💯 Wish I had known all this when I started my claim. Gonna save this for future reference!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work? Is it legit?

It's totally legit! You just enter your phone number on their website, pay the fee, and they do all the waiting for you. When an agent picks up, they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration.

idk man, paying to talk to a government agency seems sketchy af 🤔

I get the skepticism, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not having to sit on hold for hours was totally worth the 20 bucks.

has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🤡 its like they're trolling us at this point

Pro tip: if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Set your alarm for 7:55am and start dialing at 8 on the dot!

tried this and still no luck 😭 feels like winning the lottery would be easier than getting through to EDD

Aw man, sorry it didn't work out. Keep trying tho! Sometimes it takes a few attempts but don't give up 💪

Anyone else feel like they need a degree in bureaucracy just to navigate this system? I swear, dealing with EDD is harder than my actual job 🤣

LOL for real tho. Maybe we should all get together and write a "Surviving EDD: A User's Manual" 📚

Hey OP, make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you talk to them. They asked me for paystubs from like 18 months ago when I finally got through. Who even keeps those?!

Yikes, thanks for the heads up! Guess I'll be digging through my email archives tonight 😅
