PFL claim stuck in processing for 2+ months, EDD impossible to reach. Help!
Anyone else having issues with their PFL claim? I filed over 2 months ago and it's still under processing. I tried calling EDD but was on hold for over an hour before they closed. This is so frustrating!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been waiting for 3 months now. It's like they're purposely trying to make this as difficult as possible. Have you tried contacting your local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't tried that yet. How do I find out who my local rep is?

•Just google '[your city] state representative' and it should come up. Send them an email explaining your situation. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Got through to an agent in about 2 hours without having to sit by my phone the whole time.

•20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free 🙄

•I get it, but after wasting hours trying to get through, it was worth it to me. Your mileage may vary 🤷♂️

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for my PFL claim: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if you get disconnected. 2. Try calling right when they open or about an hour before they close. Sometimes the wait times are shorter. 3. Have all your documents ready before you call. They might ask for claim numbers, dates, etc. 4. Be polite but firm with the representatives. They're dealing with a lot too. 5. If you're not getting anywhere, ask to speak to a supervisor. 6. Keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to. 7. As someone else mentioned, contacting your local rep can help. 8. Check your online account regularly for updates or requests for additional info. Hope this helps someone! Hang in there, everyone. 💪

•Great advice! I'd add: make sure to follow up on any documents you send. Sometimes they 'lose' them 🙄

This might sound crazy, but has anyone tried going to an EDD office in person? I'm thinking of driving to one tomorrow cuz I'm so fed up with the phone system.

•I tried that last month. Waited in line for 3 hours only to be told they couldn't help with PFL claims in person. Total waste of time 😤
