PFL claim disappeared from EDD portal without notice - can't reach anyone for weeks. Help!
Has anyone else had their PFL claim disappear from the EDD portal without any notice? I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now with no luck. My claim vanished and I've been off work for a month already. I ended up submitting another claim, but now I have two in process and I'm not sure what's going on. I really need to talk to an agent to make sure everything is correct. Bills are piling up and I'm getting worried. Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue last year and it took me forever to get it resolved. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure you're using the exact same info (name spelling, address, etc.) on all forms. Even small discrepancies can cause issues.

Protip: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments and asking to be transferred. Sometimes works like a charm 😉

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I had a similar experience where my claim just vanished from the portal. What worked for me was sending a secure message through the UI Online portal - even though it takes a few days to get a response, at least you get an official paper trail. Also, try calling the technical support line instead of the main claims line - they're sometimes less busy and can at least tell you what's happening with your account.
