PFL claim pending since January, no info from EDD. Help!
I submitted my PFL claim back in January, and it's still pending. I haven't received any information about my payments. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm getting really frustrated with the lack of communication. I tried calling but got sent to the wrong department and couldn't even reach EDD. Any advice on how to get through to them or what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been waiting on my claim since December. It's like they've forgotten about us. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates? Sometimes they update there before sending anything out.

•Yeah, I check my online account every day. Still nothing new there either. It's so frustrating!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! You just put in your phone number, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of hold time.

•$20 to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤡

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting whole days trying to get through.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open at 8 AM 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long the wait 5. Have all your info ready when you finally talk to someone It took me about 30 tries, but I finally got through. Good luck!

•For real! It's like they're using carrier pigeons to process claims or smthn 🐦

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other EDD numbers. Sometimes you can get transferred to the right department that way. I had luck with the employer line, believe it or not.

•Ooh, that's clever. Do you happen to have that number handy?

•Sure thing! It's 1-888-745-3886. Just be polite and explain your situation, they might help you out.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all show up at the EDD office in person. Cant ignore us if were right there 👀

•Lol imagine the chaos. They'd probably call security on us 🚔

•Worth it if it gets our claims processed tho 😂

Hey OP, have you checked if there's any missing information on your claim? Sometimes they don't tell you if something's incomplete and it just sits there. Might be worth double-checking everything.

•That's a good point. I'll go through it all again. Thanks for the suggestion!

I heard they're super backlogged bc of all the covid claims still. doesn't make it any less frustrating tho. hang in there!
