PFL claim submitted twice since December, no payments, can't reach EDD. Help!
I've submitted my PFL claim twice since mid-December and haven't received any payments. I've been trying to call every day but can't get through. The only response I've gotten is a text saying they received my supporting documents. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get in touch with someone or speed up the process?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting since November and can't get anyone on the phone. It's so frustrating! Have you tried emailing them?

•I haven't tried emailing yet. Do you have the email address? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

•Emailing didn't work for me. Took them 3 weeks to respond and it was just a generic message 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. $20 just to make a phone call? 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. The $20 was worth it to get my claim sorted.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes they update it there before sending any notifications.

This is ridiculous. The system is so broken. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to. 🤬

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call right when they open at 8:00 AM 2. If you get the busy signal, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get into the queue 4. Once in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long the wait 5. Have all your docs ready when you finally get through It took me about 2 hours of redialing, but I finally got through. The key is persistence and calling early. Good luck!

•This is great advice. I'd also add: use multiple phones if you can. Increases your chances of getting through.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite claims.

•I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

•Just google 'find my california assembly member' and you'll get a website where you can enter your address. They usually have a 'contact us' form for constituent services.
