PFL claim stuck for 3 weeks, no updates. Desperate for financial help. Any advice?

I submitted my PFL claim 3 weeks ago and there's been no updates. I'm in a really tough spot financially and desperately need to know what's going on with my claim. Has anyone else experienced long delays like this? Any advice on how to get through to someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I waited 5 weeks for my claim to process and it was absolute hell. The system is so backed up right now, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but if you keep trying you might get lucky.

Calling is useless. I tried for days and couldnt get through. its like they dont want us to talk to real people 🙄

I heard if you call right when they open you have a better chance. Anyone tried that?

Yeah, I've tried the early morning trick. Sometimes it works, but it's still hit or miss. Just gotta keep trying I guess 🤷‍♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats kinda steep when were already struggling financially...

I get it, $20 isn't nothing. But for me, it was worth it to finally get some answers. Spent way more than that on gas driving to the office and getting nowhere.

How long did you have to wait with this service?

It took about an hour and a half, but I was able to do other stuff while waiting. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL claims: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you submitted your claim, any correspondence, and attempts to contact them. 2. Check your online account daily. Sometimes updates appear there before you get notified. 3. If you can, try to speak with a supervisor. They often have more authority to expedite claims. 4. Reach out to your local state representative. They sometimes can intervene on your behalf. 5. Be persistent but polite. The staff are overwhelmed too. 6. If your financial situation is dire, look into local resources for temporary assistance while you wait. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but don't give up!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep, hadn't thought of that.

This is gold 💯 Wish I had known all this when I was dealing with my claim!

have you checked your spam folder? sometimes important emails end up there. just a thought!

The whole system is a joke. They expect us to wait weeks with no income? How are we supposed to survive? 🤬

Preach! 👏 Its like they forget were real people with bills to pay

Maybe we should all show up at their office. Bet that would get their attention 😤

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing? I heard it might be faster, but idk if that's just an urban legend lol

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 🤣

I actually tried this! It didn't seem to make much difference tbh. Still took forever.

Guys, I'm telling you, social media is the way to go. I tweeted at them every day for a week and suddenly my claim started moving. Coincidence? I think not 😏
