Stuck with pending PFL claim, can't reach anyone. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a pending PFL claim and it's been a nightmare trying to get through to someone. I've been calling for days and can't seem to reach a live person. Has anyone had any luck getting through? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. I'm starting to get really worried about my claim status.

I found a way to solve PFL claim contact difficulties, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HBi10oz5Jc

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month with my PFL claim. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach anyone. Have you tried calling right when they open? That seemed to work for me after a few attempts.

Thanks for the tip! I've tried calling at different times, but not right when they open. I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I tried that too and still no luck. Its like playing the lottery trying to get through to these people 😫

Yeah, it's definitely hit or miss. Keep trying tho! Sometimes you just get lucky and catch them on a good day.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Kinda skeptical about paying for something like that...

I get the skepticism, but I can vouch for it. Used it twice now and got through both times. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait after using the service? Did they connect you right away?

0 coins

It took about an hour the first time, and maybe 45 minutes the second. Way better than spending all day hitting redial!

Have you tried faxing your documents? Sometimes that can speed up the process. I know it sounds archaic, but it worked for me when I was dealing with a pending claim.

This whole system is a joke. They make it so hard on purpose, I swear. I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. Good luck, OP. You're gonna need it. 🤡

Preach! 🙌 The system is totally broken. We need to start bombarding our representatives with complaints about this.

For real tho. Maybe if enough of us make noise, they'll actually do something about it. But I'm not holding my breath 😒

Here's what I've learned after dealing with PFL claims for the past year: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Document everything. Keep a log of when you call, who you speak to, and what they tell you. 3. Use the online portal if possible. Sometimes you can get more info there. 4. If you're really stuck, reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 5. Consider using a paid service like the one mentioned earlier if you're really desperate. 6. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for PFL claimants. Sometimes you can get insider tips. 7. Be prepared with all your info when you do get through. Have your claim number, social security number, and any relevant dates ready. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it eventually.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is incredibly helpful. I'll definitely start keeping better records of my attempts to contact them.

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So much good info here!

have u tried emailing them? i know it sounds dumb but i actually got a response within a few days when i did that

0 coins

Really? I didn't even know they had an email option. Do you still have the address you used?

yeah its on their website under the 'contact us' section. buried pretty deep tho lol. good luck!

I'm telling you, it's all about timing. Set an alarm for 7:55 AM, start dialing at 7:59, and hit send right at 8:00. Works like a charm... sometimes. 😅

Anyone else notice that their website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄 It's like they're living in the stone age or something.

omg yes! 💯 I swear they do it on purpose to make us give up

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it's tough, but your claim will get processed eventually. Try not to stress too much (easier said than done, I know). Sending positive vibes your way! ❤️

Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words. It's been a stressful few weeks for sure.

I went through the exact same thing last year and it was incredibly frustrating. Here's what finally worked for me: I called the 1-877-238-4373 number repeatedly using the redial feature on my phone while doing other tasks. It took about 2 hours of constant redialing, but I eventually got through. Also, try calling on Tuesdays or Wednesdays - seemed like those days had shorter wait times in my experience. Once you do get someone on the line, be super polite and have all your documents ready to go. The representatives are dealing with tons of frustrated people all day, so a little kindness goes a long way. You got this! 💪
