PFL payment status check - any tips to get through to someone?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on the status of my PFL payment. Has anyone had any luck getting through to someone or finding out info online? It's been a few weeks and I'm starting to get worried. Any tips or experiences would be really helpful!

I've been in the same boat. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling the PFL hotline? I spent hours on hold and still couldn't get through. š¤

ā¢Ugh, I tried calling but no luck. It's like they don't want us to reach them! How long have you been waiting for your payment?

ā¢Going on 3 weeks now. This is ridiculous. We have bills to pay!

Pro tip: check your claim status online. Go to the EDD website, log in to your account, and look for the 'Claim Status' section. Sometimes it's more up-to-date than what the reps tell you on the phone (if you can even get through).

ā¢Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try. Hopefully it's more helpful than sitting on hold for hours.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢20 bucks? No way, that's a scam for sure.

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it's legit. I was desperate and took a chance. Got through in about an hour. Way better than wasting a whole day on hold.

ā¢Can confirm, I used it too. Felt kinda wrong paying to talk to a government agency, but it saved me so much time and stress.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with PFL for months: ⢠Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. ⢠Keep all your documents organized and ready. ⢠If you get conflicting info from reps, ask to speak to a supervisor. ⢠Document every call: date, time, rep name, and what they told you. ⢠Check your online account regularly for updates. ⢠If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things through. Hang in there, OP. The system is broken, but don't give up!

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! It's really helpful to have a game plan. I'll definitely start documenting everything.

ā¢This should be pinned at the top of the sub. So many people need to see this!

I'm convinced they're just sitting on a pile of our claims, laughing at us struggling to pay bills. The whole system needs an overhaul.

Has anyone tried going to the local EDD office in person? I've heard mixed things, but I'm getting desperate enough to try anything at this point.

ā¢I tried last week. Waited 3 hours just to be told they can't help with PFL claims in person. Total waste of time. š
