EDD PFL claim stuck on 'pending review' for weeks - no payments received. Help!

I submitted my PFL claim a few weeks ago and it's still showing as 'pending review' on the EDD site. I haven't received any payments yet. My last workday was mid-January, and I've been on medical leave since then. I submitted all the necessary forms, but I'm worried there might be an issue with my documents being processed under PFL instead of Disability. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to speed up the process or what I should do next? I'm getting a bit anxious about the delay.

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD system is a nightmare rn. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? Has anyone else tried this?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've used it twice now. Worked both times. Beats calling 100 times a day and getting nowhere.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your forms are filled out correctly 2. Make sure you've submitted medical certification 3. Call EDD and ask for a status update (use the trick mentioned above if needed) 4. If they say anything's missing, send it ASAP 5. Keep a log of all your calls and documents sent 6. If it's been more than 3 weeks, consider contacting your local assembly member's office Hang in there! The system's slow, but it'll get sorted eventually.

This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure you're checking your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important EDD emails end up there.

have you checked ur bank info on the EDD site? sometimes it defaults to debit card even if u requested direct deposit. might wanna double-check that 👀

Oof, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 6 weeks now. This whole system is broken af 😤

6 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local rep? Sometimes they can help push things along.

Nah, didn't even know that was an option. Might give it a shot tho, thx for the tip!

Quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation email or letter after submitting your claim? If not, there might be an issue with how it was filed.

I got an email saying they received my claim, but nothing since then. Should I have gotten something else?

Hmm, sounds like it was received ok then. Might just be the usual EDD slowness. Keep pushin for answers tho!

PSA: There's been a huge backlog at EDD lately due to some system upgrades. They're saying it could take up to 4-6 weeks for some claims to be processed. It sucks, but at least you're not alone in this mess.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they had my birthdate wrong in the system which flagged my account for review. Might be worth double-checking all your personal info is correct.

Oh wow, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll definitely check. Thanks for the tip!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try faxing your documents? I know it sounds ancient, but sometimes it gets processed faster than online submissions. Just a thought 🤷‍♂️
