PFL claim still pending after a week - how to speed up processing?

Hey everyone, I filed my PFL claim last week and it's still showing as pending. Anyone know how long it usually takes to process? I'm getting a bit anxious and wondering if there's any way to speed things up. Has anyone had luck getting their claim processed faster?

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting on mine for almost 3 weeks now. It's so frustrating! 😤 Have you tried calling them? I heard sometimes that can help move things along.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always jammed 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 mins on hold that way!

Good idea! I'll try that tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

In my experience, it can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for a PFL claim to be processed. It really depends on their current workload and how complex your claim is. Here are a few things that might help: • Double-check that you submitted all required documentation • If you haven't already, create an online account to track your claim status • Consider reaching out to your employer's HR department to ensure they've submitted their portion • As a last resort, contact your local representative's office. They sometimes can help expedite things Hang in there! I know it's stressful, but it will get processed eventually.

This is great advice. I wish I'd known all this when I filed my claim last year!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait once they called you back?

Only about 5 minutes! Way better than being on hold for hours

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from them end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in the system.

Anyone else notice that claims seem to be taking longer lately? I wonder if they're short-staffed or something.

I heard they got a new computer system and its causing all kinds of delays. Classic government upgrade fail 🙄

Makes sense. My cousin works for the state (not PFL) and said a lot of departments are struggling with staffing right now.

Pro tip: If you can, apply for PFL before you actually need it. I did this and my claim was processed way faster than my coworker who waited until the last minute.

DONT GIVE UP!!! I know its frustrating but keep calling and checking your online account. squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that jazz

I'm dealing with the same issue right now! Filed mine 10 days ago and still pending. One thing that helped me was logging into the online portal and making sure all my documents were actually uploaded properly - turns out one of my forms didn't go through the first time. Also, if you're on mobile, try accessing it from a desktop computer instead. The mobile site seems glitchy sometimes. Hope this helps and we both get approved soon! 🤞
