PFL Claim Submitted 3 Weeks Ago - No Confirmation or Payment Yet. Normal?
Hey everyone, I submitted my PFL claim a few weeks ago and I'm still waiting to hear back. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get confirmation that they received it? And when can I expect to start getting payments? I'm getting a bit anxious about the whole process.

It really depends on how you submitted your claim. Did you do it online or by mail? Online is usually faster, but even then it can take a few weeks to process. Have you checked your account online for any updates?

I submitted it online, but I haven't seen any updates on my account yet. It's been about 3 weeks now. Should I be worried?

3 weeks isn't too unusual, especially if there's a backlog. Keep checking your online account daily. If you don't see any changes after 4-5 weeks, then you might want to try contacting them directly.

ugh, the waiting game is the WORST. I remember when I filed my claim, it felt like forever. Took about a month before I got any confirmation. Just try to stay patient (easier said than done, I know š

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Save confirmation emails, take screenshots of your online submissions, note down any phone calls you make. It'll save you a headache if there are any issues later on.

That's great advice, thanks! I'll start doing that right away.

100% this. I learned the hard way when they claimed they never received my docs. Now I keep a folder with all the receipts š

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho. They even refund you if it doesn't work.

Just tried it yesterday actually. It works! Got through in about 45 mins when I'd been trying for days on my own.

Here's a detailed breakdown of what to expect with PFL claims: ā¢ Processing time: Usually 2-4 weeks, but can take up to 6 weeks during busy periods ā¢ Confirmation: You should receive an email or letter confirming receipt of your claim ā¢ Online updates: Check your account regularly for status changes ā¢ Payments: Once approved, payments are typically issued within 1-2 weeks ā¢ Backpay: You'll receive backpay from your claim start date If you haven't heard anything after 4 weeks, try calling the PFL office directly. Be prepared for long wait times. If you can't get through, consider sending a follow-up message through your online account. Remember, every case is different, and processing times can vary. Stay patient and persistent!

Unpopular opinion: the whole system is broken af. We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to. It's like they WANT us to give up š

True, but what can we do? It's not like complaining on reddit is gonna change the system lol

Maybe not, but at least we can warn others and share tips to make it slightly less painful š¤·āāļø
