PFL claim sent a month ago - still no response. Normal wait time?

Hey everyone, I sent in my PFL application by mail about a month ago and I'm still waiting to hear back. Anyone know how long it usually takes to get approved? I'm starting to get a bit worried.

I found a way to solve PFL application approval delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvcaOBYsyMs

Ugh, I feel ya. The waiting game is the worst 😫 I sent mine in about 6 weeks ago and just got approved last week. Hang in there!

Thanks for sharing! Did they send you anything in the mail or just deposit the money?

They sent me a letter first, then the money showed up in my account about a week later. Keep an eye on your mailbox!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 to actually talk to a human? might be worth it at this point 🤔

Exactly. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time on hold. This was a game-changer for me.

Pro tip: If you haven't heard back in 4 weeks, give them a call. Sometimes applications get lost in the shuffle and a phone call can help move things along.

I'm in the same boat, been waiting for like 5 weeks now. This whole system is a joke 🤡

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research about PFL claims: 1. Processing time: Generally takes 2-4 weeks, but can be longer during busy periods. 2. Follow-up: If you haven't heard back after 4 weeks, definitely call them. 3. Online vs. Mail: Online applications are usually processed faster. 4. Documentation: Make sure you've included ALL required docs. Missing info can delay your claim. 5. Persistence pays off: Don't be afraid to call multiple times if needed. 6. Check your spam folder: Sometimes approval emails end up there. 7. Be prepared: Have your claim number, SSN, and all relevant dates ready when you call. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try faxing your application next time? I know it sounds ancient, but I've heard it can be faster than mail.
