PFL claim filed a month ago - no updates or payments. Normal wait time?

Hey everyone, I filed for PFL about a month ago and I haven't heard anything back yet. No updates, no payments, nothing. Is this normal? I'm starting to get worried. Anyone else in the same boat or have any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel you. I waited almost 6 weeks before I heard anything back on my claim. The system is so backed up right now, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? That's what finally worked for me.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! How many times did you have to call before you got someone?

Honestly, I lost count. I think I tried like 50 times over a couple of days. It's a total crapshoot. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

50 times?! That's insane. There's gotta be a better way. šŸ˜©

A month with no updates is pretty standard these days, unfortunately. The whole system is overwhelmed. Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update there before sending anything out.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them your personal info?

Nah, you just put in your phone number and they call you when they get an agent. No personal stuff required. It's pretty straightforward.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: ā€¢ The standard processing time is 2-3 weeks, but it's often longer now due to high volume ā€¢ Make sure all your documents are submitted correctly ā€¢ Check your online account regularly for updates ā€¢ If it's been over a month, definitely try to contact them ā€¢ Be persistent with calling - early morning or late afternoon tend to be better times ā€¢ Consider using an auto-dialer or paid service if you're really struggling to get through ā€¢ Don't forget to certify for benefits every two weeks, even if you haven't heard back yet Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get there eventually!

Thank you so much for this detailed response! This is really helpful. I'll definitely check my online account again and try calling during those times.

This should be pinned at the top of the sub tbh. So many people asking the same questions over and over.

This whole system is a joke. They expect us to just wait around for months with no income? How are we supposed to survive? šŸ¤¬

Preach! šŸ‘ The government needs to get its act together. We're not asking for handouts, just what we're owed!

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help move things along.
