PFL claim filed 12/3 - Will holiday delays push processing to next year? Need advice on expediting!

Hey everyone, I'm freaking out about my PFL claim. I filed it on December 3rd and I'm worried that with the holidays coming up, it's gonna take forever to process. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm thinking about trying to talk to a manager to speed things up. Any advice?

Ugh, I feel you. The holiday season is the worst time to be dealing with this stuff. I filed mine back in November and it's still pending. It's like they go into hibernation or something 🐻

Hibernation šŸ˜‚ more like permanent vacation. I swear these govt agencies move slower than a sloth on sedatives

fr tho, its like they forget we have bills to pay. cant put life on hold just cuz its xmas šŸ™„

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but yeah, you're probably looking at delays until after New Year's. The whole system gets backed up this time of year. My advice? Start calling now and don't stop until you get someone on the line who can help.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Any tips on how to get through to an actual person? I've been calling non-stop and just keep hitting dead ends.

Persistence is key. Try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you get lucky and catch someone who's willing to help just to get outta there lol

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips: • Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. • Be polite but firm when you do get someone on the phone. • Ask for a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere with the first person you talk to. • Check your online account daily for updates. • Consider reaching out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes light a fire under these agencies. Remember, squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

This is gold šŸ’Æ Especially the part about contacting your rep. They can work miracles sometimes!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'm definitely going to try all of these. Fingers crossed it helps speed things up.

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

It's legit, I swear. Took about an hour and a half, but beats spending all day hitting redial. Worth every penny imo

idk man, paying to talk to a govt agency we already pay for with our taxes? seems sketchy af

I get it, but when you're desperate and losing money every day your claim isn't processed, $20 is nothing. Time is money, ya know?

have u tried faxing ur docs? sometimes old school methods work better with these dinosaur agencies lol

I'm in the same boat, filed around the same time. Let's keep each other updated? Strength in numbers and all that jazz šŸ’Ŗ

Definitely! It's good to know we're not alone in this mess. I'll post updates if I make any progress.

Hot take: the whole system is designed to be frustrating so people give up. Don't let them win! Keep pushing!

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they're playing 4D chess and we're stuck with checkers

Pro tip: if you can, try to find out the name of the person handling your claim. Makes follow-up calls way easier.

Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' documents? Make copies of EVERYTHING you send them. Trust me on this one.

Seriously! I started taking pictures of the envelopes before I mail them now. Paranoid? Maybe. But it's saved my butt more than once.
