EDD PFL Claim: Impossible to Reach Live Agent - Need Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my PFL claim and I'm trying to get in touch with someone at EDD. Has anyone else had trouble reaching a live agent? It seems like every time I call, I get put on hold forever. I'm starting to get frustrated and worried about my claim. Any advice on how to actually talk to a real person there?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been trying to get through to EDD for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to anyone. I swear, it's easier to win the lottery than to get a live agent on the phone. 🤬

For real tho! I've spent hours on hold just to get disconnected. It's like they're playing some sick joke on us.

Same here. I've tried calling at different times of the day, but no luck. It's so frustrating!

I know right? It's like they're purposely understaffed or something. Makes me wonder if they're even trying to help us at all. šŸ¤”

I actually found a way to get through! There's this website called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you to a live agent when one picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I gave it a shot out of desperation. It really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did it take for them to connect you?

It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. The system is so broken if we have to pay just to talk to someone. 😤

I get that, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know?

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through.

I've been dealing with EDD for my PFL claim for months now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what I've found works best: • Call right when they open at 8:00 AM • If you can't get through, try calling at 11:55 AM or 4:55 PM (just before lunch and closing) • Use the phone prompts to request a callback instead of waiting on hold • Be persistent and call multiple days in a row • Have all your claim info ready when you call • Be polite to the agent when you finally get through (they deal with angry people all day) Hope this helps! Don't give up, eventually you'll get through to someone who can help.

This is gold! Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm gonna try the 11:55 trick tomorrow.

I've had success with the callback option too. Just make sure your phone is nearby all day!

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic help? The whole system needs an overhaul.

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they're stuck in the stone age or something.

For real. In this day and age, you'd think they'd have a better online system or chat support or something.

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes when you finally get through, the agent seems clueless about PFL claims? Last time I called, the person kept confusing it with disability insurance. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

OMG yes! I had an agent tell me to file for unemployment instead. Like, do they even train these people?

That's why I always ask to speak to a supervisor if the agent seems unsure. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself!

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Write down the date and time of your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. It'll save you a headache later if there are any discrepancies with your claim.

Anyone else feel like they're playing EDD roulette? Some days you get a helpful agent, other days it's like talking to a brick wall. šŸŽ°

LOL, EDD roulette is the perfect way to describe it. I swear it's all about luck sometimes.

I heard a rumor that they're updating their phone systems soon. Anyone know if thats true or just wishful thinking?

I'll believe it when I see it. They've been saying that for years.

Even if they do, watch it crash on day one lol
