EDD SDI Claim Issues: Can't Reach an Agent - Any Tips?
Has anyone else had issues with EDD SDI claims recently? I've been trying to get through to an agent for days now. Every time I call, I'm put on hold forever or the call just drops. It's so frustrating! I need to check on the status of my claim and I can't seem to get any answers. Anyone have any tips or tricks for actually reaching a human being at EDD?

I found a way to solve EDD SDI claim contact issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE9EHN78LPs

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been dealing with the same issue for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

•Seriously! It's almost like they're purposely making it difficult. I've heard rumors that they're understaffed, but come on...

•I know right?? I've been trying to get through for a month now. It's ridiculous!

•A month?! That's insane. I wonder if there's any way to file a complaint about this. It can't be legal to make it this hard to access our benefits.

I actually found a method that works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Have you actually tried it yourself? How long did it take?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I gave it a shot out of desperation. It took about 2 hours, but I actually got to talk to someone! Totally worth the $20 imo.

•Idk man, paying to access a government service we're entitled to feels wrong. But I guess if it works... 🤷♂️

•I get that, but think about how much time and frustration it saves. Plus, if you're waiting on benefits, that $20 could be worth it to get things moving.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Best times to call are right when they open or an hour before closing. 2. If you get a real person, ask for a direct extension or callback number. 3. Be persistent! Sometimes it takes 20+ calls to get through. 4. Check your online account regularly for updates. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Hope this helps someone! We're all in the same boat here. 💪

•Great advice! I never thought about contacting my state rep. Has anyone here actually tried that?

•Yep, I have! It took about a week, but their office was able to get someone from EDD to call me back. Definitely worth a shot if you're really stuck.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get our benefits? The system is broken af 😤

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing them? I heard it might be faster but idk if that's just an urban legend lol

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 🤣 But for real, I've heard mixed things. Might be worth a shot if you're desperate.

•Lmao I know right? But at this point I'm willing to try smoke signals if it'll get me my benefits faster 😂

Pro tip: if you have a complex case, try asking for a tier 2 specialist when you finally get through. They're usually more knowledgeable and can actually make decisions on claims.

•This! 👆 A tier 2 specialist literally saved my sanity (and my claim) last month.

I've been struggling with the same thing for weeks! One thing that worked for me was using the callback feature on their website - you have to dig around a bit to find it, but it's under the "Contact EDD" section. I scheduled a callback for 8am and actually got a call back within 2 days. Way better than sitting on hold for hours. Also, try calling the disability line directly at 1-800-480-3287 instead of the main number - sometimes it's less busy. Good luck everyone! 🤞
