Frustrated: Can't reach EDD agent for a month. Any tips to get through?
Hey everyone, I'm at my wits end here. I've been trying to reach an EDD agent for over a month now about my claim. Every time I call, I just get the automated system and can't get through to a real person. Has anyone had any luck getting through? Any tips or tricks you can share? I'm starting to feel really desperate and could use some advice.

I found a way to solve reaching EDD agent for claim, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGzoJKy-G38

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. It's like trying to win the lottery to get through to someone. Have you tried calling right when they open? That sometimes worked for me.

•Pro tip: call at 7:59am and start spamming the menu options. Sometimes you can get in before the queue fills up. Good luck! 🍀

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like 7:55am 2. Have all your info ready (SSN, claim number, etc.) 3. Be polite but firm with the agent 4. Ask for a callback number or extension if you get disconnected 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office Hope this helps! Dont give up, you'll get through eventually.

•The assembly member tip is gold. They can sometimes work miracles with EDD!

•Adding to this great list - I've also heard that calling on Tuesdays or Wednesdays works better than Mondays/Fridays when they're swamped. And if you do get through, ask the agent to add notes to your file about what you discussed so you don't have to start from scratch if you need to call again!

lol EDD more like EDDont amirite? 🤡 But for real, the system is so broken. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get basic help.

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!

Okay, here's my secret weapon. Call the employer line instead of the claimant line. They usually pick up faster and can still help you. Just be super nice and they might transfer you to the right person.

•Isn't that kinda unethical tho? 🤔

I totally understand your frustration! I went through the exact same thing a few months ago and it felt hopeless. What finally worked for me was a combination of calling right at 8am sharp and using the "2-1-4" menu sequence to bypass some of the automated prompts. Also, I noticed that calling mid-week (Tuesday-Thursday) seemed to have better success rates than Mondays or Fridays. Don't give up - I know it's exhausting but you will eventually get through! In the meantime, make sure you're documenting all your call attempts with dates and times, as that info can be helpful when you do finally reach someone. Hang in there! 💪
