If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Update: My payment FINALLY hit my card this morning! So it took 2 full days after the issued date. So stressful for no reason!

Glad to hear your payment arrived! For future reference, the 2-3 business day timeline is pretty standard for EDD SDI payments, though it can occasionally be faster. It's always good practice to build this delay into your financial planning if possible. The EDD system unfortunately hasn't improved their communication about these expected processing times.

I'm new to this community and just went through the same situation last week! My first SDI payment after knee surgery showed "paid" on Tuesday but didn't hit my card until Thursday morning. I was panicking because I had no idea this was normal - wish I'd found this thread earlier! For anyone else dealing with this, it seems like the 2-3 business day delay is pretty standard. Also learned the hard way to check both the EDD portal AND the Bank of America debit card site since they don't always sync up. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - makes me feel less alone in navigating this system!

I went through this exact same situation about 6 months ago. The waiting is the worst part, but here's what helped me get through it faster: 1. When you call Money Network, ask to speak to the fraud department directly - they can usually give you more detailed info about what happened 2. Request they email you a confirmation of the new card request with tracking info 3. If you have any pending payments, ask them to confirm those will automatically go to the new card once it's active 4. Keep calling every few days for updates - sometimes cards get delayed and you won't know unless you ask Also, if you're really strapped for cash, some people have had luck asking EDD to issue a paper check while waiting for the new card, though that can take even longer. Hang in there - it sucks but you'll get through this! 💪

This is super helpful advice! I didn't know you could ask for email confirmation with tracking info - that alone would save so much anxiety about when the card will arrive. The tip about calling the fraud department directly is gold too. Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏

Count me in too. This has gone on long enough.

I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now - filed my SDI claim about 6 weeks ago and still radio silence. What's really frustrating is that I can't even get a straight answer about where my claim stands in the process. I've been checking my online account religiously but it just says "pending" with no timeline. Has anyone had luck with contacting their local assembly member's office? I've heard they sometimes have better connections to get answers from EDD than we do as regular folks trying to call in.

As someone who's been through the SDI appeals process twice as a freelancer, I wanted to add that you should also request a copy of your entire claim file from EDD before your hearing. Sometimes there are internal notes or documents that show exactly why they made their decision, and you can address those specific points directly. You can request this through their records department - it takes about 10 business days but it's free and can give you valuable insight into their reasoning. Also, if your appeal goes to a hearing, don't be intimidated - the Administrative Law Judges are generally much more knowledgeable about freelance work than the initial claims processors. Stay strong and keep us posted on how it goes!

This is such valuable advice! I had no idea you could request your entire claim file. That could really help me understand what specific criteria they used to deny my claim. I'm definitely going to request that - 10 business days isn't too bad and having that insight before a potential hearing sounds incredibly useful. Thank you for sharing your experience! It's reassuring to hear that the judges are more knowledgeable about freelance work than the initial processors. I'll keep everyone updated on how the appeal progresses.

I'm dealing with a very similar situation right now! Also a freelancer (marketing consultant) and got denied for the same ridiculous reason. What's especially frustrating is that I've been paying into SDI for over 5 years as a self-employed person - that's literally what the system is for! One thing I learned from my research is that you should also include any recurring client relationships in your appeal documentation. Even if you don't have traditional "employment," showing that you have clients who regularly hire you can help establish that pattern of work they're looking for. I'm gathering emails from my regular clients showing our ongoing working relationships. Also wanted to mention - while you're waiting for your appeal, make sure you're still doing your physical therapy or whatever treatment your doctor recommended. They sometimes ask for updated medical records during the process, and you want to show you're actively working toward recovery. The whole system seems designed to exhaust people into giving up, but don't let them wear you down!

To address your follow-up question about informing EDD of your layoff: Yes, you should accurately report your employment status and last day of work when filing. This won't affect your SDI eligibility if you've paid into the system, but it helps them process your claim correctly. Also, keep track of all communication with EDD. Document who you speak with, when, and what was discussed. This can be invaluable if there are any issues with your claim later.

Perfect, thanks! I'll make sure to keep detailed notes of everything. Really appreciate all the helpful advice everyone has provided.

Just want to add one more piece of advice from someone who went through this exact scenario - don't panic about the timing! I was laid off while dealing with a chronic condition and was terrified about losing everything. Here's what I wish I'd known: Your SDI eligibility is locked in based on your work history, not your current job status. As long as you've been paying into SDI through payroll deductions, you're covered. I filed for SDI about 2 weeks after my layoff (once my doctor confirmed I couldn't work) and had no issues. The COBRA vs Covered California decision can wait a bit - you have 60 days to elect COBRA from your qualifying event. Use that time to compare costs and see what your SDI benefit amount will be. Sometimes the Marketplace plans are way better financially, especially with the lower income from disability benefits. Stay strong - the system actually does work once you navigate through all the paperwork and waiting periods!
