This system is so broken. We pay into it, but when we need it, its like pulling teeth to get our benefits. Something needs to change!
Preach! π Maybe we should start a petition or something.
Sadly, this has been going on for years. Don't hold your breath for any real changes anytime soon.
Hey OP, just curious - did you submit any additional documentation with your claim? Sometimes that can speed things up.
I submitted everything they asked for upfront - medical certs, employment info, the works. That's why I'm so confused about the delay. π
Not to be that guy, but did you make sure you filled out everything correctly? I had to resubmit twice because I missed a tiny detail on the form π€¦ββοΈ
Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just camp outside their office until they process our claims. Who's with me? βΊοΈβ
Careful, they might process that as a new claim and make us wait another month π
Anyone else notice that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? π
Conspiracy theory: the website is never actually under maintenance. They just put that up when too many people are trying to access it at once. π€
Hey OP, what industry do you work in? I've heard some industries are getting processed faster than others.
I work in healthcare. I thought that might speed things up, but apparently not. π€·ββοΈ
Huh, that's surprising. You'd think healthcare workers would be prioritized. The system makes no sense sometimes.
Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is down like every other weekend for "scheduled maintenance"? It's almost like they don't want us to file our claims π
omg yes! It's always when I finally have time to deal with this stuff too. So frustrating!
Conspiracy theory: they do it on purpose to reduce the number of claims filed π
Guys, I've been dealing with EDD for 6 months now. Here's my advice: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online interaction. It's saved my butt multiple times when they tried to say I didn't do something I know I did.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard it can sometimes get faster results than calling or emailing.

β’Faxing? What year is it, 1995? π

β’Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it! Sometimes the old ways work best with these outdated systems.
