PFL claim issues - anyone received recent EDD updates or letters?
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a PFL issue and I'm wondering if anyone else has had any recent updates or letters from EDD? It's been a while since I've heard anything and I'm starting to get worried. Any advice or experiences would be really helpful!

I'm in the same boat! Haven't heard anything from EDD in weeks. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on with our claims. Have you tried calling them?

•I've tried calling but it's impossible to get through. I've been on hold for hours and then get disconnected. It's driving me crazy!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of waiting last week. Good luck!

I actually got a letter from EDD last week about my PFL claim. They said they needed additional documentation from my doctor. Make sure you check your mail regularly!

•Oh wow, thanks for letting me know. I'll double-check my mailbox. Did they give you a deadline to submit the extra docs?

•Yeah, they gave me 10 business days to get everything in. Don't wait too long if you get a similar letter!

Guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•20 bucks to actually talk to a human? Sign me up! 😂 The EDD system is such a joke sometimes.

Here's what I've learned about PFL claims after dealing with this for months: • Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you submit • Follow up regularly, at least once a week • If you don't hear back within 14 days, call them • Make sure your doctor submits all required forms on time • Double-check that your employer has submitted their portion • Use the online portal to check your claim status • If you're really stuck, contact your local assembly member's office Hope this helps someone! It's a long process, but hang in there.

Anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? It's like they're hoping we'll just get tired of dealing with it and go away. 🙄

•Preach! 🙌 I swear they make it complicated on purpose. We pay into this system, we should be able to use it without jumping through a million hoops.

•Idk man, I think they're just understaffed and overwhelmed. Still sucks for us tho

Quick question - how long did it take for y'all to get your first payment after your claim was approved? I'm going on week 3 and still nothing...

•I got mine after about 10 business days. If it's been 3 weeks, you should definitely call and check on it.
