Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

This! I had to do this once. Sat in the waiting room until they agreed to see me. It was awkward but it worked.
Is anyone else sick of how the unemployment system treats us like we're trying to scam them? We're just trying to survive here. It's not our fault the economy is a dumpster fire. 🔥
It's because a few bad apples spoil the bunch. There are people who do try to scam the system, which makes it harder for the rest of us.
Doesn't matter. The system should be designed to help people, not to catch a few cheaters at the expense of everyone else.

I heard they're super backlogged rn because of some new policy changes. Might be why it's taking so long.
Any idea what the policy changes are? I'm curious if it'll affect my claim too
Not sure on the specifics, but I think it has something to do with how they're processing covid-related claims. Don't quote me on that tho lol

Pro tip: If you're trying to reach a specific department, try these menu options when you call: 1. Press 1 for English 2. Press 1 for claim questions 3. Press 2 for employer questions 4. Enter your social security number 5. Press 1 to confirm This usually gets me to a human faster. Hope it helps!

Have you considered reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through faster. Worth a shot if you're really stuck!

Has anyone tried reaching out on social media? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses that way.
I tried tweeting at them once. Got a generic response telling me to call the same number I've been trying for weeks 🙄
Facebook worked for me! Try messaging their page directly.
I feel your pain, OP. I was in the same boat last month. What finally worked for me was calling exactly at 8:01 AM and using the Spanish option (even though I don't speak Spanish). Got transferred to an English-speaking rep pretty quick. Good luck!

Have you checked if your claim period expired? Sometimes payments stop because you need to file a new claim. It's not always clear when this happens.
