How to update employer info for PFL after company acquisition?

Hey everyone, I need to update my employer info for Paid Family Leave. My company just got acquired and I'm not sure how to go about this. Has anyone gone through this process before? What documents do I need to gather? Any tips would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve updating employer for PFL benefits, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjKbUL6WJxU

I went through this last year. You'll need to gather acquisition documents and prepare details about both your old and new company. It's not too complicated, but make sure you have everything ready before you start the process.

Thanks for the info! Do you remember how long the process took? I'm worried about my benefits being delayed.

It took about 2 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Just make sure you submit everything asap to avoid any delays in your benefits.

Here's a detailed guide on updating employer info for PFL: 1. Gather acquisition documents (merger agreement, official company announcement) 2. Prepare old company details (name, address, EIN) 3. Prepare new company details (same as above) 4. Contact PFL office via phone or online portal 5. Submit all documents and information 6. Follow up regularly until the change is processed Remember to keep copies of everything you submit and note down any case numbers they give you. It can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on their workload. Hope this helps!

I found a method to get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Yeah, it's legit. You just go to their website, choose the department you want to call, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. Simple as that.

Has anyone had issues with their benefits after updating employer info? I'm worried about potential gaps in coverage.

I didn't have any issues, but I've heard horror stories. Make sure you keep ALL your paperwork just in case.

Pro tip: If you're having trouble reaching someone, try calling right when they open. I always have better luck first thing in the morning.

This! 💯 Also, avoid calling on Mondays if possible. Always the busiest day.

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the PFL system? It's 2023, why is everything still so complicated? 🤦‍♂️

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is a dinosaur. We need some tech-savvy people to drag it into this century.

Careful what you wish for. Remember the unemployment website fiasco during covid? Sometimes "upgrades" make things worse lol
