Hey, don't lose hope! I was in your shoes last year. It took forever, but I finally got my claim approved. Just keep following up and don't let them forget about you!
It's reassuring to hear success stories. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Welcome to the club, buddy. I filed back in September and still crickets. The system is a joke 🤡
I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ
I get it, but when you're desperate for answers, it's a lifesaver. Better than wasting days trying to get through.
As long as it works, I guess it's worth the money if you're struggling to get paid.
PSA: If ur having trouble with EDD, contact ur local state representative! They can sometimes help speed things up.
how do you even find out who ur rep is?
Good idea! Politicians are more likely to act when they hear directly from constituents.
Have you tried faxing your documents? Sometimes that gets their attention faster than calling or emailing.
Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, I'll try anything at this point. Thanks for the tip!
Lol, I know it sounds old school, but it actually worked for me last month!
Anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to make us give up? 🤔 It's like they're hoping we'll just forget about the money we're owed smh
100% agree. It's a total clown show 🤡
Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. Worked for me!
This is actually great advice. My cousin did this and got her issue resolved in like 2 days. Definitely worth a shot!

Hot take: the whole system is designed to be confusing and difficult on purpose. They hope people will just give up. Don't let them win! 💪

•Preach! 🙌 It's all about saving money for the state, nevermind the people who actually need help.

Hey, former EDD employee here. The backlog is insane right now due to budget cuts and outdated systems. My advice: be polite but firm when you do get through. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. And ALWAYS get a reference number for your call.

•Is there any way to expedite the process? I'm about to lose my apartment because of these delays.

•Unfortunately, there's no official 'expedite' process. But if you're facing eviction, make sure to mention that. It can sometimes bump you up the priority list. Also, look into emergency rental assistance programs in your area.
