SDI claim pending for 2 weeks - normal processing time? When to start bonding claim?
Hey everyone, I submitted my SDI claim about two weeks ago and got a confirmation email, but it's still showing as pending. Anyone know how long it usually takes to process? Also, I'm wondering when I should start the claim for bonding. Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve SDI claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZgiqFYW7WI

ā¢6 weeks?! Are you kidding me? How are we supposed to survive that long without income? š”

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so messed up š¤®

ā¢I know it sounds crazy, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

ā¢Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

ā¢Yeah, so basically you choose which line you want to call, pay, and then their system starts calling. It navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. No guarantee, but it worked for me!

For the bonding claim, you should start it about 2 weeks before your expected leave date. But heads up, processing times are all over the place right now.

Pro tip: keep checking your online account daily. Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications. Also, make sure you've submitted all required docs!

ā¢Thanks for the tip! I'll def keep an eye on my account. Do you know if there's a way to see if they're missing any docs from me?

ā¢Not really, unfortunately. The online system is pretty basic. If they need anything, they'll usually send a letter or email. But it can take forever š

I've been through this process before, so here's what I know: ⢠Processing times vary wildly, but 2-6 weeks is typical ⢠Make sure ALL your paperwork is in order. Any missing docs can delay things ⢠Keep an eye on your online account AND your mail. Sometimes they communicate through one but not the other ⢠For bonding claims, start the process about 2 weeks before your leave date ⢠If you haven't heard anything after 4 weeks, try calling (good luck with that though) ⢠Sometimes reaching out to your local assembly member can help speed things up Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it!

ā¢Wait, assembly members can help? How does that work?

ā¢Yeah, they often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with state agencies. Google your local assembly member and give their office a call. Can't hurt!
