SDI claim pending for 2 weeks - normal processing time? When to start bonding claim?

Hey everyone, I submitted my SDI claim about two weeks ago and got a confirmation email, but it's still showing as pending. Anyone know how long it usually takes to process? Also, I'm wondering when I should start the claim for bonding. Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve SDI claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZgiqFYW7WI

6 weeks?! Are you kidding me? How are we supposed to survive that long without income? 😔

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so messed up 🤮

I know it sounds crazy, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

Yeah, so basically you choose which line you want to call, pay, and then their system starts calling. It navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. No guarantee, but it worked for me!

For the bonding claim, you should start it about 2 weeks before your expected leave date. But heads up, processing times are all over the place right now.

Pro tip: keep checking your online account daily. Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications. Also, make sure you've submitted all required docs!

Thanks for the tip! I'll def keep an eye on my account. Do you know if there's a way to see if they're missing any docs from me?

Not really, unfortunately. The online system is pretty basic. If they need anything, they'll usually send a letter or email. But it can take forever šŸ™„

I've been through this process before, so here's what I know: • Processing times vary wildly, but 2-6 weeks is typical • Make sure ALL your paperwork is in order. Any missing docs can delay things • Keep an eye on your online account AND your mail. Sometimes they communicate through one but not the other • For bonding claims, start the process about 2 weeks before your leave date • If you haven't heard anything after 4 weeks, try calling (good luck with that though) • Sometimes reaching out to your local assembly member can help speed things up Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it!

Wait, assembly members can help? How does that work?

Yeah, they often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with state agencies. Google your local assembly member and give their office a call. Can't hurt!

Has anyone tried faxing their docs instead of mailing? I heard it might be faster but idk
