EDD disability claim nightmare: No payments, weird chiropractor assignment, constant calling. Help!
I'm having issues with my EDD disability claim and I'm so frustrated. They keep telling me to go to a chiropractor in a city that's hours away from where I live. Plus, I haven't received any payments and I have to keep calling to ask about it. Has anyone else dealt with this? Am I missing paperwork or something? Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my SDI application. I submitted it a couple weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet. The thing is, my doctor's note has a different start date than what I initially reported. I'm worried this might cause issues with my claim. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice on what I should say when I finally get through to someone on the phone?

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help speed things up or at least get you more info about your claim status.

Hey, former EDD employee here. The backlog is insane rn, but here's a pro tip: if you can prove financial hardship (like eviction notice, past due bills), you can request expedited processing. Make sure to mention you have young kids too. Good luck!
Is there a specific form for requesting expedited processing or do we just ask verbally?
No specific form, just ask verbally and be ready to provide details/documentation if they request it.
