EDD stopped my disability benefits for missed doctor appointment, appealed in September, no response. Help?

I've been waiting for my disability benefits since September. They stopped my payments because I missed an appointment with their doctor. I didn't see the letter in time to meet the deadline. I appealed before the final deadline, but I haven't heard anything back since. Has anyone else dealt with this? How long does the appeal process usually take?

I found a way to solve disability benefits appeal delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIyFUhEfKJI

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting since November for my appeal to go through. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. 🤦‍♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call the EDD office first thing in the morning, right when they open. 2. If you can't get through, keep calling every 15 minutes. 3. Once you get someone on the line, be polite but firm. Explain your situation clearly. 4. Ask for a supervisor if the rep can't help you. 5. Document everything - get names, ID numbers, and call reference numbers. 6. Follow up with a written letter sent via certified mail. 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can often help push things along. Stay persistent! The squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations.

I swear, dealing with EDD is like playing a game where the rules keep changing and nobody tells you 🤡

Pro tip: if you can, go to your local EDD office in person. Sometimes face-to-face interactions can speed things up.

Anyone else notice how they're super quick to stop payments but take forever to start them again? 🤔

Hey OP, how long ago did you submit your appeal? There should be a timeframe they have to respond by.
