EDD Disability: Approved 3 months ago, still no payments. Help!
I filed for disability benefits a few months ago and got approved, but I still haven't received any payments. It's been three months now and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced long delays like this? Any advice on how to speed things up or what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed in January and still nothing. The system is so broken 😡 Have you tried calling them? I've been trying for weeks but can't get through.

•Calling is a nightmare. I spent hours on hold and got disconnected twice. There has to be a better way!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•20 bucks? That's steep. Why should we have to pay to talk to someone about our benefits?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through and sorted out my issue. Worth every penny imho.

•How long did you have to wait once they called you back?

•It took about 2 hours total, but I just went about my day and they called when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Reach out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes expedite things. 3. Check your online account for any pending tasks or messages you might have missed. 4. If you can, go to a local EDD office in person. Sometimes face-to-face is more effective. 5. Be persistent but polite. The staff are probably overwhelmed too. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but don't give up!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out to my rep's office. Didn't even think of that.

I heard they're super backlogged because of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Doesn't make it any easier for us legit claimants tho 😒

•Yeah, I read an article about that. Apparently they're manually reviewing a ton of claims now. Such a mess.

•Classic government efficiency 🙄 Maybe if they paid their workers better, they'd have enough staff to handle it all.

Not to be that guy, but have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds archaic, but I got a response within a week after sending a fax. Might be worth a shot!

•Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 🤣 But hey, if it works, it works!

•Lol I know right? But seriously, sometimes the old school methods cut through the digital clutter.

This is why we need universal basic income. The current system is clearly not working for people when they need it most.
