SDI claim payment delayed - need advice on speeding up process
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my disability claim payment. I filed it a while ago and still haven't received anything. Has anyone else experienced delays with their disability payments? Any advice on how to speed up the process or get in touch with someone who can help? I'm starting to get worried about my bills piling up.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been waiting on my disability payment for weeks now. It's so frustrating. Have you tried calling them? I spent hours on hold and still couldn't get through 😤

•Going on 6 weeks now. I'm about ready to pull my hair out! 😫 This system is so broken.

•6 weeks?! That's insane. I thought my 3-week wait was bad. Sending good vibes your way 🙏

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Yeah, basically they have a system that navigates the phone menu and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. Super simple!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with disability claims for years: 1. Document everything! Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions. 2. Follow up regularly. Sometimes claims get 'lost' in the system. 3. If possible, submit any additional documentation they might need before they ask for it. 4. Reach out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes expedite claims. 5. Be persistent but polite. The people on the phone aren't responsible for the delays. 6. Check your online account regularly for updates or requests for information. 7. If you're in dire financial straits, mention that when you talk to them. There might be ways to expedite based on hardship. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it.

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Do you think emailing is better than calling?

•In my experience, calling usually gets faster results, but always follow up with an email to create a paper trail. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat, friend. Been waiting for 2 months now. Starting to feel like I'm invisible to the system. Anyone know if there's a way to check the status of a claim online?

•Yeah, you can usually log into the disability website and check your claim status. But half the time it just says 'pending' with no other info 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have to wait on hold for a while, but you're more likely to get through than later in the day. Also, try calling on a Tuesday or Wednesday - Mondays and Fridays tend to be busier.

Anyone else notice that ever since covid hit, the wait times for EVERYTHING government related have gone through the roof? It's like they're using it as an excuse to slack off 🙄

•Cmon man, they're probably just understaffed and overwhelmed. Cut them some slack

Idk if this helps, but I had luck reaching out to my state representative. Their office has a liaison who deals with disability claims. Might be worth a shot!

•Oh no, that's awful! Have you tried reaching out to local charities or churches? Some offer emergency rent assistance.
