Applied for SDI in January, no updates on claim. Anyone else experiencing long delays?

I applied for disability in January and still haven't heard anything about my claim. It's been months and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced long delays like this? Any advice on how to check the status or speed things up?

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 I applied back in December and I'm still waiting. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho

Calling is a nightmare! I spent 3 days trying to get through. When I finally did, they just told me to keep waiting. So helpful 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give calling another shot. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

20 bucks? No way, that's a rip-off!

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issue resolved.

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and got the call when an agent was available. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. Also, make sure you didn't miss any requests for additional info in your mail or email.

The whole system is a joke. I've been waiting since November and still nothing. They're probably too busy buying new furniture for their offices while we're all struggling to pay rent 🤬

Preach! 👏 The government doesn't care about us little guys

C'mon, that's not fair. The staff are probably overwhelmed too. It sucks for everyone.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Be patient: Processing times are much longer than usual due to high volume. 2. Check your online account regularly for updates. 3. Respond to any requests for information ASAP. 4. If you haven't heard anything after 6-8 weeks, try calling. 5. Consider using a paid service like Claimyr if you can't get through on your own. 6. Contact your local state representative if you're facing severe financial hardship. 7. Make sure all your documentation is in order and easily accessible. 8. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but persistence pays off!

What year is it, 1995? 😂 But for real, if it works, it works!

I'm in the same boat, applied in February. This waiting game is killing me. How are we supposed to survive without income for months on end? The system is broken 😞
