NY unemployment payment missing after normal Sunday certification
I certified for my weekly benefits this past Sunday like normal, but something weird is happening. Usually when I certify on Sunday, my payment info shows up right away with a Tuesday release date. It's been like clockwork for the past 5 months. But this week - nothing is showing up at all. No week ending date, no release date, nothing. My payment history still only shows last week's payment. I've checked multiple times and even tried logging out and back in. Anyone else having this issue right now or know what's going on with ny unemployment system? Starting to get worried because rent is due next week and I'm counting on this money.

Same thing happened to me! I certified Sunday morning and usually see the pending payment by Sunday night with Tuesday deposit. But now it's completely blank - nothing showing in payment history for this week. Called the automated line and it says I certified but no payment info. Something must be glitching in their system.

•Did you try calling them yet? I'm dreading spending hours on hold...

•I tried calling twice yesterday and couldn't get through. Got the 'high call volume' message both times and it hung up on me 🤬

•classic ny unemployment... their system always seems to break right when we need the money most

After struggling with the same problem for 2 days, I finally got through to someone using claimyr.com - it's a service that waits on hold for you and calls when an agent is ready. Honestly it was the best money I've spent in a while because the agent fixed my issue in 5 minutes! Turns out there was a system-wide delay they're working on. They manually processed my payment and said it should be in my account by Thursday. Check out this video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•This sounds like an ad... does this actually work? I've been trying to get through for ages

•Not an ad lol, just a desperate person who finally found something that worked. I was skeptical too but after spending 4+ hours trying to get through myself I was willing to try anything. It took less than an hour to get a callback.

•wait so this service just calls for you? how does that even work

•Basically they have a system that dials and stays on hold so you don't have to. When a real person answers, they connect the call to your phone. Saved me from losing my mind on hold music 😂

•yeah another 'miracle solution'... what's the catch? 🙄

•No catch that I found. You pay for the service but talking to an agent got my $ unlocked so fast it was worth every penny. You can keep trying the regular way if you want but good luck getting through 🤷♀️

I noticed a bunch of people on Twitter complaining about the same thing yesterday. Apparently its a system issue affecting a lot of people. Some people are saying there was a software update that went wrong over the weekend.

This just started happening to me too after months of normal payments. It seems like every couple months something breaks in their system 🤦♂️ Last time it was the ID verification thing that locked everyone out. Now this. NY unemployment needs to get their act together!

•Seriously! It's like they're running the whole system on a Windows 95 computer in someone's basement 💀

•Lmao exactly! I swear they're using floppy disks to store our claims 😂

I work in IT and this sounds like a classic database sync issue. Their payment processing system is probably not talking correctly to the user interface system. I bet the payments are still processing in the background but just not displaying correctly. I'd give it 48 hours before panicking.

•That makes me feel a bit better. But I really need this payment. Do you think I should just wait it out then?

•If you absolutely need the money right away, try getting through to a rep. Otherwise waiting 1-2 days might resolve itself. Their system has had similar hiccups before.

OK HERE'S WHAT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING - I just got off the phone with them after trying ALL morning: There was a system update over the weekend that caused payment processing delays for claims filed on Sunday. The good news is that all certifications were RECEIVED correctly, but there's a display issue in the payment history system. The representative told me all payments are still being processed on their normal schedule, but we just can't see the pending status. If you need to verify your claim was received, call the automated system at 888-581-5812 and it should confirm your certification (even if the website doesn't show it). If you're still worried or have special circumstances, I strongly recommend using claimyr.com to get through to a live agent. I wasted hours trying to call directly before using their service and getting through right away. The rep was able to confirm my specific payment is still scheduled for the normal Tuesday deposit despite not showing online. Also worth mentioning - they said this display issue should be fixed within 48 hours and all pending payments should become visible. So don't panic if you don't see anything yet!

•THANK YOU!! This is super helpful. I just called the automated number and it did confirm my certification was received. That's a huge relief!

•Did they say if the payments would still hit accounts on the normal day or will everything be delayed?

•They told me payments should still go out on the regular schedule! The issue is just with the display/tracking system, not the actual payment processing.

have u tried checking ur bank account directly? sometimes the $ hits even when the unemployment site doesn't update

This happens to me sometimes and then all of a sudden 2-3 payments hit at once. The ny unemployment system is so glitchy but the money usually shows up eventually. Just be patient (i know its hard when bills are due).

•That's reassuring to hear! Was it delayed by just a few days or longer when it happened to you?

Jamal Brown
•The longest was like 5 days late but then 2 payments came together. Most times its just delayed 1-2 days. Their computer system is from the stone age i swear

Check if there were any holidays this week? Sometimes even random government holidays can delay unemployment processing. I remember being confused when Presidents Day messed up my payment schedule.

Did you get an email from them recently about quarterly review? I had something similar happen and turns out they were doing a quarterly review of my case which delayed payment by a few days. They never told me directly - I only found out when I finally reached an agent.

•I didn't get any emails from them, but I'll check my spam folder just in case. Quarterly review might make sense since I've been on unemployment for about 3 months now.

Sometimes they put random holds on accounts for no reason. happened to me TWICE last year and the only way to fix it was to talk to a human. good luck getting through tho... took me 67 calls once 😭

•67 calls?! That's insane. Have you tried claimyr.com? I used it last month when I had issues and got through to someone in under an hour.

My roommate works for NY state (not unemployment but different agency) and she said they've been having major IT issues across multiple departments this week. Something about a failed server migration over the weekend. Apparently it's affecting several systems including unemployment.

Honestly not to sound paranoid but check if someone else is claiming your benefits. My cousin had this happen and turned out someone had somehow gotten into her account and changed the payment method. Call them ASAP!

•Oh god, I hope that's not it. How did your cousin find out? Were there any warning signs?

•She only found out when she finally got through to a rep who told her the payment had been processed but to a different account! They fixed it and got her the money but it took weeks. Definitely try to talk to someone directly.

ur supposed to get a message after u certify saying "Your certification for the week ending [date] has been processed". Did u get that confirmation? if not maybe ur certification didnt go thru right
0 coins
Ethan Wilson
•Yeah I did get that confirmation message right after certifying. That's why it's so weird that nothing is showing up in my payment history now.

Dmitry Petrov
•then its definitely a glitch on their end. if u got the confirmation ur good
