NY unemployment certification not showing in payment history - anyone else?
I certified for my weekly NY unemployment benefits yesterday but when I checked my payment history today, nothing shows up. The system confirmed my certification was successful - I got the confirmation number and everything, but payment history shows nothing for this week. Is this happening to anyone else right now? Should I wait another day before panicking or is something wrong with the system?

Relax, this happens ALL the time. The system takes 1-2 business days to update the payment history after certification. If you certified on a weekend it might not show until Tuesday or Wednesday. Just wait it out.

•Oh thank you! This is my first time seeing this delay so I got worried. I'll check again tomorrow.

I had the exact same issue last week. Mine showed up after 2 days. The NYSDOL system is running slower than usual since they did that update in February. As long as your certification went through and you got a confirmation number, you should be fine!

•That's reassuring to hear! I did get a confirmation number so hopefully it'll show up soon.

•Not necessarily true. I had the same issue last month and it turned out there was a flag on my account for an employment verification. Took me 3 weeks to get it resolved. Check if there are any messages in your inbox saying they need additional information.

This could be happening for a few different reasons: 1. Normal processing delay (most common) - takes 1-3 business days to appear 2. Identity verification issue - check your message inbox 3. Work search requirements flag - make sure you properly documented your work search activities 4. Quarterly review of your claim - sometimes happens at the start of new quarters If it doesn't show up after 3 business days, you should try to contact NYSDOL directly. Keep documentation of your confirmation number as proof you certified.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I just checked my inbox and there's nothing there, so hopefully it's just the normal delay. I'll give it until Thursday before I try calling.

Same thing happened to me back in January. I certified on Sunday but nothing showed in payment history until Wednesday morning. As long as you got the confirmation screen after certifying you should be fine!!!!

I certified yesterday too and don't see anything in my payment history either! Mine always shows up right away so I'm getting nervous. This is the first time in 6 months I've had this happen.

If it's been more than 3 business days and you still don't see anything in your payment history, you NEED to call them. But good luck getting through - I spent HOURS trying to reach someone at NYSDOL last month. I finally used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending all day redialing. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - it saved me so much frustration.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give it until Thursday, and if I still don't see anything I might try that service. Spending hours on the phone is the last thing I need right now.

•Does that service actually work? Seems too good to be true. I tried calling NYSDOL last year and literally gave up after 2 days of constant redialing.

•Yeah it really worked for me. I was skeptical too but I was desperate after trying for days. They basically keep dialing for you and then call you when they get through to an agent. Worth it to save the headache.

If you certified late in the day yesterday, it might not have been processed in the same batch. The cutoff time is around 7pm EST from what I understand. Also check that you didn't accidentally answer something incorrectly during certification - like saying you refused work or traveled outside your area - those will delay your payment while they review your case.

•I certified around noon, and I'm pretty sure I answered everything correctly. I've been claiming for months now with no issues, so this caught me off guard.

Does anyone know if the upcoming system maintenance this weekend will delay payments even more? I saw something about it on the NYSDOL twitter.

•Yes, NYSDOL announced system maintenance for April 16-17, 2025. They recommend certifying before Saturday if possible. Payments might be delayed by 1-2 additional days for those certifying this weekend.

That's awesome news! I was getting worried reading through all these comments, but it sounds like this delay is pretty normal. I'm new to the unemployment system and certified for the first time this week - still waiting for mine to show up but feeling much more confident now that I see others are getting their payments processed. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it really helps us newcomers know what to expect!

•Welcome to the system! It's definitely nerve-wracking the first time you experience these delays. I'm also pretty new to all this (only been claiming for a few months) and I was panicking when my payment didn't show up right away. But everyone here has been so helpful - this community is a lifesaver for navigating all the quirks of the NYSDOL system. Hope your payment shows up soon!

I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! Certified yesterday morning and my payment history is still empty. This is only my second time claiming so I wasn't sure if this was normal or not. Reading through everyone's experiences here is really reassuring - sounds like 1-2 business days is pretty typical. I'll check again tomorrow and try not to stress about it. Thanks for posting this question, it's exactly what I needed to see!

•I'm in the same boat as you! This is actually my first time claiming unemployment and I certified on Tuesday but still don't see anything in my payment history. I was starting to panic thinking I did something wrong, but after reading through all these comments I feel so much better. It's really helpful to know that delays of 1-2 business days are completely normal. I'll definitely check again tomorrow morning. Thanks for speaking up - it's nice to know there are other newcomers going through the same uncertainty!

Just wanted to jump in as another newcomer who's been following this thread closely! I'm in week 3 of my first unemployment claim and I've noticed the payment history delays seem to be getting longer recently. My first two certifications showed up within 24 hours, but this week's certification (done Tuesday) still isn't showing up. It's really comforting to see so many people experiencing the same thing and that it usually resolves itself within a few business days. This community has been incredibly helpful for understanding what's normal vs. what's actually a problem. For other newcomers like me - definitely save your confirmation numbers and don't panic if it takes 2-3 days to show up in payment history!

•Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm also brand new to this - just filed my first claim two weeks ago and this is only my second certification. It's so helpful to hear from other newcomers about what's normal. I was getting really anxious when my payment didn't show up immediately like I expected, but seeing everyone's stories here makes me feel so much better. I'm definitely going to bookmark this thread for future reference! It's amazing how much peace of mind you get from knowing others are going through the exact same thing.
