NY unemployment payment showing no release date after claiming this week
I filed my weekly certification on Sunday evening like I always do, but something weird is happening. Usually when I check my payment history on Monday, I can see the week ending date and a release date for Tuesday. But now it's Thursday and I still don't see any record of my claim from Sunday in the system. Nothing is showing up for this week at all - no pending status, no release date, nothing. I've been collecting benefits for about 4 months now without any issues. Has anyone else experienced this? My rent is due next week and I'm starting to freak out a little.

Same here. I claimed Sunday around 9am and still nothing showing up. Usually hits my account Wednesday morning but now its Friday and nothing. Called the automated line and it says I have no pending payments. Super weird.

•Nope still nothing. I'm gonna try calling them Monday if it doesn't show up.

•Exact same thing for me. Something must be messed up in their system this week.

After going through hell with the ny unemployment system, I finally found a solution! Used a service called Claimyr that kept dialing for me and got me connected to an actual agent. Talking to a real person fixed my issue immediately and my payment was processed the next day. Best thing I've ever done to finally get my benefits paid quickly! Check out their site: claimyr.com or this video for more info: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•this sounds too good to be true. Does it actually work?? I've been trying to reach someone for 3 weeks 😭

•100% worked for me! The agent I spoke with fixed everything in like 10 minutes. I was about ready to give up before trying it.

•yeah right, another 'miracle solution'... what's the catch? 🙄

•No catch, it just connects you with an actual human at unemployment. When you talk to someone directly they can actually see what's wrong with your claim.

•hmm I've been burned by so many of these 'services' before... what makes this different?

•It's literally just a service that does the calling and waiting on hold for you. They call you when they get a real agent on the line. Saved me hours of frustration.

I'm experiencing something similar but not exactly the same. I claimed Sunday morning, got confirmation number, but when I look at payment history it shows $0 for this week. Called their automated number and it says my payment is pending review. This happened once before but fixed itself in 2 days. I'd give it til Monday before panicking.

Ok so here's what ACTUALLY happens sometimes. The system runs batches to process claims, and occasionally a batch fails or has errors. When this happens, they have to manually reset things which can cause delays. It's happened twice this year already - February and May. Just wait it out, it'll probably show up Monday or Tuesday next week.

•This is the correct answer. Source: my sister works for NYSDOL (not in IT tho).

•Thanks this makes me feel a bit better. I wish they'd just tell us when there are delays instead of making us all panic 😫

THIS SYSTEM IS TRASH!!! 🤬 Been dealing with these "glitches" for over a year. They always get fixed but OMG WHY CANT THEY JUST MAKE IT WORK CONSISTENTLY?!

•Facts. And somehow they spent millions "upgrading" the system but it still can't handle basic weekly claims processing 🤡

Look guys I work in software development (not for unemployment but similar systems). These government batch processing systems are ancient and run on outdated tech from the 1980s. When something goes wrong, they have to bring in specialized consultants who know COBOL programming language to fix it. Be patient - your money will come, just delayed.

•This!! Most ppl don't realize these systems are running on dinosaur technology 🦖

Sometimes the delay happens if you answered any questions differently than previous weeks. Did you report any work or earnings this time? Or answer 'no' to being available for work? That'll trigger a manual review.

•I didn't change anything from previous weeks. Same answers as always - no work, available for work, looking for work, etc.

The best thing you can do is try to speak with a real person at NY unemployment. The only way I've been able to get through is using Claimyr.com - it keeps dialing for you and connects you when someone answers. Explaining your situation to an actual agent is 100x more effective than waiting and hoping the system fixes itself. I had a similar issue where my payments just stopped appearing in the system. When I finally got through to an agent, they found that my account had been flagged for quarterly review (which happens randomly). The agent cleared the flag and my payment was processed immediately. If you're worried about rent and bills, definitely don't wait - try to get someone on the phone who can look at your specific claim. The automated systems and website don't show you everything that might be happening with your claim behind the scenes. claimyr.com seriously saved me from getting evicted when my benefits mysteriously stopped last month.

•not falling for another unemployment 'hack'... these never work

•Not a hack at all - they just dial the number over and over until they get through, then connect you. Literally saved me days of frustration.

•I can vouch for this. Used it twice when my claim got messed up. Talking to an actual human is the only way to get answers with this broken system.

Have u checked ur bank account directly? Sometimes the DOL system doesn't update but the money still hits ur account.

Did u get an email confirmation when u certified? I always screenshot that confirmation page just in case theres issues later.

•Yeah I got the confirmation number and everything. That's why I'm so confused.

Sometimes claims get randomly selected for extra verification. Had this happen to me in August. You should get a letter or email if that's the case but sometimes they forget to send it 🙃

My friend works for unemployment (not in NY but another state) and she says end of month/beginning of month is when they do system maintenance which can cause delays. Might be that.

•Makes sense. All these government systems are so outdated they probably need constant maintenance.

hav you checked the spam folder in ur email? Sometimes they send notices that ur claim needs additional info

I'm going through the exact same thing! Filed Sunday night around 10pm, got my confirmation number, but it's like my claim just disappeared into thin air. Usually I can see it in my payment history by Monday afternoon with a Tuesday release date, but there's absolutely nothing there. I've been checking multiple times a day and it's really stressing me out. This is my first time experiencing this kind of delay - I've been collecting for about 6 months without any major issues. Really hoping it's just a system glitch that gets resolved soon because I have bills due next week too. Thanks for posting this, at least now I know I'm not the only one dealing with this mess!

•Oh wow, same exact timeline as me! Filed Sunday night around 10:30pm and it's like it just vanished. This is so reassuring to know it's not just my account that's messed up. From reading all these comments it sounds like their system has batch processing issues that happen periodically. Fingers crossed we all get our payments early next week! 🤞

This exact thing happened to me back in October! Filed my weekly claim on Sunday, got the confirmation number, but then it was like my claim just vanished from the system. No payment history showing, no pending status, nothing. I panicked for about 4 days until it suddenly appeared on Thursday with a Friday release date. Turns out their system had some kind of processing error that week that affected a bunch of people. The money did come through eventually, just delayed. I know it's super stressful when you have bills due, but based on what everyone else is saying here, it sounds like another one of their periodic system glitches. Keep checking your account - it'll probably show up early next week!

•That's really reassuring to hear! October isn't that long ago so it sounds like this is definitely a recurring issue with their system. Four days of panic sounds about right for what I'm going through now 😅 It's so frustrating that they don't give us any heads up when these processing errors happen - a simple notice on their website would save everyone so much stress. Thanks for sharing your experience, it gives me hope that my payment will show up soon too!

This is so frustrating! I'm dealing with the exact same issue - filed Sunday evening and it's like my claim just disappeared. I've been on unemployment for about 8 months and never had this happen before. Reading through all these comments is actually making me feel better though - sounds like this is a recurring system issue that eventually gets resolved. The fact that so many people are experiencing the same thing at the same time makes it pretty clear it's not an individual account problem. I really wish NYSDOL would just post a notice on their website when they're having processing delays instead of leaving us all to panic and wonder if our benefits got cut off. Has anyone tried calling the customer service line yet or is it still impossible to get through?

•I tried calling yesterday and today but couldn't get through - just kept getting the "all agents are busy" message and then it hangs up after being on hold for like 20 minutes. Based on what others are saying here, it sounds like talking to a real person is the only way to get actual answers, but good luck reaching anyone! I'm gonna keep trying Monday morning. Really wish they'd just communicate better about these system issues instead of leaving us all in the dark 😤

Same exact situation here! Filed Sunday around 8pm, got my confirmation number, but when I checked Monday morning there was absolutely nothing in my payment history. It's now Friday and still radio silence from the system. I've been on benefits for about 5 months with zero issues until this week. Reading through everyone's comments is honestly the first relief I've felt all week - clearly this is a widespread system issue and not something wrong with our individual accounts. Really hoping this gets sorted out by Monday because I have rent due Tuesday and this delay is causing major anxiety. Thanks for posting this @Mei Liu, sometimes it just helps to know you're not alone in dealing with NYSDOL's broken system! 🙏

•@Mia Roberts I m'so glad you posted this! I was starting to think I was going crazy. Filed mine Sunday night too and it s'like it just vanished into the ether. The anxiety is real when you have bills coming up and no idea what s'happening with your claim. At least now I know it s'definitely a system-wide issue and not just me. Really hoping they get their act together by Monday - this kind of uncertainty is the last thing unemployed people need to deal with! 😰

This is such a relief to read! I filed my weekly certification on Sunday morning around 11am and I'm experiencing the exact same thing - it's like my claim just vanished from the system completely. No payment history, no pending status, absolutely nothing showing up. I've been on unemployment for about 7 months and this has never happened before. I was starting to panic thinking they somehow cut off my benefits without notice, but seeing that so many others are dealing with the identical issue makes it clear this is a system-wide problem. It's incredibly frustrating that NYSDOL doesn't communicate these processing delays to us - a simple banner on their website saying "experiencing technical difficulties, payments may be delayed" would save everyone so much stress and confusion. I have bills due early next week too so really hoping this gets resolved by Monday. Thanks for posting this @Mei Liu - knowing I'm not alone in this mess definitely helps!
