NY unemployment showing no claim filed after I definitely filed yesterday - anyone else?

Same thing happened to me about a month ago! I claimed on sunday night and then checked tuesday morning and the system had NO record of it. I had to reclaim and it delayed my payment by like 5 days. The system is such garbage sometimes.

After dealing with this exact issue (and so many others), I finally found a way to actually TALK to someone. Sounds like ether a website glitch or possible account lock. They sometimes don't tell you when they flag your account for "verification" 🤬 When was your BYE date? Might be related if you're near the end of your benefit year.

So here's what you should do (I work with a workforce development program and deal with this stuff constantly): 1. First, wait 24 hours. The system sometimes has processing delays especially on Mondays and Tuesdays. 2. If it still shows nothing tomorrow, try to certify again. The system generally won't let you double-certify if it actually recorded your first attempt. 3. If that doesn't work, you absolutely need to speak with an agent. When you talk to an agent, have them check for: - System errors on your claim - Any flags or holds that might have been placed - Verification requirements that might have been triggered 5. The same exact thing just happened to me! Certified Sunday, checked this morning, and nothing shows up. Panicking cuz rent is due and my landlord doesn't accept "the unemployment website glitched" as payment lol 😭

What time did u file? I heard theres a cutoff at like 7pm and if u file after that it sometimes doesn't register properly? Some weird bug in there ancient system lol

have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? sometimes the unemployment site gets stuck showing old information. their website is literally from 1995 i swear

OMG the EXACT same thing is happening to me right now!!! Filed yesterday at noon, got confirmation, logged in today - nothing! Called 16 times and can't get through. This system is a JOKE.

I think they might be doing system maintenance. Saw on Twitter that a bunch of people are having issues with the NY unemployment site today. Maybe check back tomorrow?

classic nysdol... take screenshots of everything always. and document when u called, who u talked to, wat they said. its the only way to protect urself from there incompetence

So I had a somewhat similar issue but with twists and turns (isn't that always the case with NY unemployment? 🙃). Last month I certified and got confirmation, then nothing showed in my payment history for days. Turns out my account got randomly flagged for ID verification AGAIN even though I'd already done it twice! The only way I found out was by finally getting through to a human who told me there was a note on my account. No email, no message, no notification whatsoever. And I would have lost that week if I hadn't called. So yeah... don't assume it'll resolve itself. You really need to talk to someone.

Y'all I don't know why anyone is surprised by this. Remember when the entire system crashed during covid and nobody could get benefits for months? The NY unemployment office is still running COBOL programming from the 70s. The real miracle is when things actually work correctly!

Update from someone who dealt with this last week: mine eventually showed up, but they ended up paying me a day later than usual. Don't panic yet, but if it's not there by tomorrow definitely try to recertify.
