NY unemployment claim missing from payment history even though system says I certified
I certified for my weekly benefits this past Sunday for the week ending 11/14/21, and got the confirmation screen saying everything went through successfully. Usually my payment shows up in the payment history section by Monday night or Tuesday morning at the latest. It's now Wednesday and there's still nothing there! The weird thing is when I check my account, it clearly says my latest certified benefit was for the week ending 11/14/21, but there's absolutely no trace of it in my payment history. I've been receiving benefits normally for the past 3 months without any issues until now. I'm getting really worried because I have rent coming up and I'm counting on this money. Has anyone else experienced this delay recently? Any idea what could be going on or what I should do?

Yes! This happened to me last month. The system is super glitchy right now. Mine eventually showed up after 4 days, but I was panicking the whole time. Call them if it doesn't appear by Friday.

•Oh that's a relief to hear! Did you have to do anything special or it just randomly appeared after 4 days?

•It just showed up! But not gonna lie, I was checking that stupid payment history page like 20 times a day 😂

After banging my head against the wall for weeks trying to get through to someone at ny unemployment, I finally found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me a callback from a real agent in under an hour. Talking to the agent got my missing payment released that same day - worth every penny I spent on it for the stress relief alone! They also have this helpful video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% worked for me. I was skeptical too but I was desperate after trying for 3 weeks. The agent I talked to fixed my issue in like 10 minutes once I got through.

•wait so how does this work? they just call for you and then connect you when someone answers?

•Yep! They have some kind of system that calls repeatedly and then rings your phone when a real person picks up. Saved me from having to listen to that awful hold music for hours 🙌

This same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Check if there's a message in your inbox on the portal. Mine didn't show in payment history because they needed additional info and put a hold on my claim. The system is absolutely TERRIBLE at letting you know when there's a problem 🤬

It could be a technical glitch or it could be that your claim is under review. Sometimes they randomly audit claims and it causes a delay. I'd give it until Friday and then try to get someone on the phone if it doesn't show up. The whole system is a dumpster fire though so good luck actually reaching anyone.

•Do you think I should try to certify again or would that make things worse?

•DONT recertify! That will definitely cause problems and they might flag it as fraud. Just wait it out or try to call.

Let me break down what could be happening and what you should do: First, this isn't uncommon right now with NY unemployment. Their systems are overwhelmed and glitching constantly. Here are your options: 1) Wait 2-3 more business days. Many payments are delayed but eventually process. 2) Check your message inbox on the portal. Sometimes there's an issue requiring additional information that won't be obvious elsewhere. 3) If you need to speak with an agent (which sounds necessary if this doesn't resolve by Friday), don't waste days trying to get through the phone system. I used claimyr.com and got connected to an agent within 45 minutes who fixed my similar issue immediately. 4) Log in on a different browser or clear your cache - sometimes it's just a display issue. 5) Make sure your direct deposit info hasn't changed or expired. Patience is important, but so is being proactive when it comes to your benefits. The system is flawed but navigable if you know the tricks.

•This is really helpful info. I'm saving this comment for future reference cuz I bet I'll need it at some point 🙄

I know this sounds weird but try logging in late at night like after midnight. Sometimes the system updates at weird times and doesn't show accurate info during the day. Worked for me when I had a similar issue.

•Can confirm this bizarre advice actually works sometimes. The unemployment website seems to run better when most people aren't using it.

Did you get the confirmation email after you certified? If not, it might not have gone through even though the website said it did. This happened to me before.

•Yeah I did get the email confirmation, that's why I'm so confused!

•Then something else is going on. You definitely need to talk to someone... good luck with that though 😫

Double check that you didn't answer any questions differently than usual during certification. One wrong answer can put a hold on everything. I accidentally clicked "no" when asked if I was available for work (was half asleep certifying at 6am) and it delayed my payment for two weeks.

The same exact thing happened to me!! I called for THREE DAYS straight and couldn't get through. Finally gave up and tried claimyr.com after seeing it recommended here. Got a callback in about 30 mins and the agent fixed it right away - turns out they had randomly flagged my account for review but hadn't bothered to tell me 🤦♀️

•How much did that service cost you? worth it?

•It was totally worth it to get my payments flowing again! Can't remember exact amount but it was reasonable considering I was about to miss my car payment without the unemployment money.

Check if your benefit year has ended. Sometimes the system lets you certify even after your benefit year expires but won't actually pay you. You'd need to reapply in that case.

•My benefit year shouldn't be ending until February 2022, so I don't think that's it. But thanks for the suggestion!

They're doing a ton of fraud reviews right now. My sister works for the dept and says they're randomly selecting people to verify identity again. Check if there's anything in your document section that needs uploading.

I was stuck in a similar situation last month and wasted days trying to call them with no luck. I finally broke down and used that Claimyr service everyone talks about here (claimyr.com) and it actually worked! Got a callback in about 45 mins and the agent fixed my missing payment issue on the spot. Best money I've spent in a while considering it got my benefits flowing again.

•did you have to give them any personal info? seems kinda sketchy

Lia Quinn
•they don't ask for any personal info at all - they just connect the call to your phone when they reach an agent. you talk directly to unemployment

Are you using the mobile site or desktop? The mobile site is trash and often doesn't display payment info correctly. Try logging in from a computer if you haven't already.
