Anyone else waiting for ny unemployment payment after claiming on Sunday?
Filed my weekly ny unemployment certification on Sunday like normal, but still haven't received my payment today (Thursday). Usually hits my account by Tuesday latest. Checked my payment history and nothing is showing for this week. My claim is still active and I answered all questions the same as always. No messages in my inbox about issues. Anyone else experiencing delays this week or just me? Not sure if I should call or wait another day.

Same here! Certified Sunday morning and still nothing in my account. I've been on unemployment since March and this is the first time there's been a delay. Starting to get worried since rent is due next week 😬

•Happened to me a couple months ago. Turned out to be a bank holiday that pushed everything back a day. Check if there was any holiday this week?

After waiting 4 days with no payment, I finally got someone on the phone using claimyr.com - life changing! They connected me with an actual person who fixed my payment issue in minutes. It was the best money I've ever spent to finally get my benefits paid quickly. Check out this video if you're desperate like I was: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Seriously? Another spam post about some service? How do we know this isn't just marketing?

•Not spam at all. I was in the same boat - no payment for almost a week. Was about to throw my phone after trying to call 20+ times. This service actually works - they wait on hold and then call you when they get a real person. My payment was released literally the same day after talking to an agent.

•wait hold up - does this actually work or is it just the usual BS? I've tried calling for 3 weeks and can't get through

•Yeah it works. They basically call for you and stay on hold so you don't have to. Then when they get someone, they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration and my payment was processed right away after talking to someone.

I'm having this EXACT problem! Been claiming for 7 months without any issues, then suddenly nothing this week. Called the automated line and it says my claim was processed but no payment info. Did you change anything in your weekly certification answers?

Isaiah Thompson
•Nope, answered everything exactly the same as always. Did u try calling them?

•Tried calling 3 times today. Got hung up on twice and the third time was on hold for 1hr 45min before I had to go pick up my kid. Gonna try again tomorrow.

This happens every few months for some reason. The entire NY unemployment system runs on technology from like the 1980s or something. It's probably just running slow or they're doing some kind of update. Mine was 3 days late last month and then suddenly appeared with no explanation.

•Facts. I heard they're still running some parts on COBOL programming which is like ancient tech 💀

•Yup their systems are straight trash. i used to work in IT and would be embarrased if our systems were this bad

Ok so here's what's probably happening: Sometimes the NY unemployment system flags accounts for random review, especially if you've been claiming for a while. There could be several reasons for this delay: - System glitch (happens ALL the time) - Random verification check (they do these periodically) - Change in banking info or addresses recently - Answering a certification question slightly differently - Your claim hit the 13 or 26 week mark which triggers review What you should do: 1. Check your payment history online to see if there's any status update 2. Call the automated system (888-581-5812) to verify your claim was received 3. If it's been more than 3 business days, you need to talk to a live agent Getting through on the phone is nearly impossible though. After trying for days, I used claimyr.com and they got me connected to an agent within an hour. The agent found that my claim had been flagged for "review" for no apparent reason, and they released my payment immediately. The NY unemployment system is frustrating but talking to a real person is the only way to fix these random holds.

•Thanks for the detailed info! I'll try the automated line tonight and see what it says. If nothing by Monday I'll try getting an agent.

•Have you tried the messaging system on the website instead of calling? Sometimes that works better.

•The messaging system is hit or miss. Sometimes they respond in 2 days, sometimes 2 weeks. When I had a payment delay, calling was the only thing that fixed it same-day.

Did you work at all during the week you're claiming for? Even a few hours could delay it while they adjust the amount.

•Nope, haven't worked at all. Status is the same as previous weeks when I got paid on time.

Check if you got an email asking for additional documentation. sometimes they send those and the email goes to spam. happened to me and my payments stopped until i uploaded what they needed.

When this happened to me, it turned out they thought I moved out of state because I logged in from my parents house in NJ one time. Had to verify my address with them. Check if your login location changed recently?

•Interesting... I was at my sister's place in Connecticut last weekend and logged in from there. Maybe that triggered something?

•Thats probably it!!! The system flags out-of-state logins automatically. You'll need to call and verify your identity.

•Bruh, you have no idea what people are going through. Some of us are applying to jobs every day and still waiting. Mind your business.

•Yeah those "help wanted" signs are for $12/hr with no benefits. Try raising a family on that! 🙄

Are you at your BYE (Benefit Year End) date? That would cause a delay while they review your claim for another year.

•No, still have about 4 months left on my claim.

i had this issue last month! turns out the system flagged my account because i answered the traveling question differently one week (said yes when i visited my mom in nj). had to talk to a rep to fix it.

How do you normally get your payment? Direct deposit or debit card? Some people with the debit card option have been seeing delays recently.

Isaiah Thompson
•Direct deposit to my checking account. Been the same account since I started claiming.

You might be hitting your maximum weeks allowed. Check how many effective days you have remaining in your payment history.
