NY unemployment payment delay this week - anyone else waiting longer than usual?

I certified for my NY unemployment benefits on Sunday like always, but I still haven't gotten my payment. Usually, it hits my account by Wednesday morning at the latest, but it's now Thursday and nothing's showing up. My payment history just says 'pending' with no explanation. Is the NYSDOL system having issues or is it just me? Has anyone else noticed a delay with their payments this week?

Yeah, mine's delayed too. Going on 4 days now. The website just says 'pending' but everything seemed normal when I certified. I'm getting worried because I have rent due next week.

Thanks for confirming it's not just me. Do you know if there's a way to find out what's causing the delay? I tried calling but couldn't get through.

There's a system maintenance update happening this week that's causing payment delays across the board. NYSDOL posted about it on their website yesterday - they're upgrading their payment processing system and said delays could last 3-5 business days. Payments should resume by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

I completely missed that announcement! Thanks for letting me know. I'll check their website for updates.

The system definitely has its issues, but in my experience, these delays usually resolve within a week. Have you tried reaching out to them directly? Sometimes a phone call can help expedite things.

i had a delay last month and it turned out they were doing some id verification thing on random accounts. check ur messages in ur account to see if they need anything from u

Good idea! Just checked my messages and there's nothing there, so I don't think it's an ID verification issue in my case. But thanks for the suggestion!

I was facing the same issue and couldn't get through on the phone either. After trying for days, I used Claimyr.com to get connected to an agent instead of waiting on hold forever. They got me through to a real person in about 20 minutes. The agent confirmed there's a system delay but was able to escalate my payment. Check out their demo video if you're curious how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Yes, the agent was able to see that my payment was stuck in processing and pushed it through manually. Got the money the next day.

Is anyone else still waiting? Mine just came through this morning (Friday) - showed up in my account about 2 hours ago. Hopefully everyone else's is processing now too!

Nothing for me yet, but that gives me hope that they're starting to process them! I'll keep checking my account throughout the day.

If you're still experiencing delays beyond today, it might be worth contacting them directly. This appears to be resolving for most people, but individual accounts can sometimes have unique issues that need attention. For future reference, payment delays often happen during the last week of the quarter due to system updates.

Update: My payment finally came through! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helped reduce my anxiety about the whole situation.

Got mine too, finally! What a relief.

Same thing happened to me last month during a system upgrade. The key is to keep checking your account regularly because payments seem to come through in batches rather than all at once. Also, make sure your direct deposit info is still current in your account - sometimes payment delays can be caused by outdated banking information. Hang in there, it should resolve soon!

Thanks for the tip about checking direct deposit info! I just verified mine and it's all current. Good to know about the batch processing - that explains why some people are getting theirs before others. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, it's been super helpful during this stressful situation.
