NY unemployment payment late today - is anyone else missing theirs?
My regular NY unemployment payment has always shown up in my account on Tuesday mornings like clockwork since January, but nothing's come through today. The payment status just says 'pending' in my account. I certified on Sunday like usual, no issues. Has anyone else not received their payment today? Is NYSDOL having some kind of delay? Getting worried since rent is due Friday.

I got mine just fine this morning, hit my Chase account around 8:30am. Maybe its your bank? Sometimes they hold deposits for weird reasons.

•I'm with Capital One and they've never held them before. The weird thing is it's not even showing as processed in my NYSDOL account. Usually it shows as 'released' but now it just says 'pending'.

NYSDOL is ALWAYS doing this!!!! They love to mess with our money without any warning or explanation. I bet there's some "system upgrade" they didn't bother telling anyone about. I'm missing mine too and this is the THIRD TIME this year they've been late. How are we supposed to pay bills when they can't get their act together?? Anyone know if they posted anything about delays on their website??

•I checked their site and social media - nothing about any delays posted. But this has happened before. Usually payments catch up in 24-48 hours when their payment system has issues. If it's not there by Thursday, then I'd start getting concerned.

There seems to be a partial payment delay happening today. I'm hearing from several clients with the same issue. From what I understand, NYSDOL is processing a large backlog of claims after the Presidents' Day weekend, which is slowing down their regular payment release schedule. Most pending payments should process overnight and appear tomorrow. If you don't see your payment by Thursday, you should contact them directly. Try not to panic - these temporary delays happen a few times a year, especially after holidays or at the beginning of quarters when their systems are processing more claims than usual.

my friend had this problem last month, turned out he made a tiny mistake on his certification (said he was available for work 6 days instead of 7 or something) and they flagged it for review. maybe double check ur certification answers?

•I just double-checked and don't see any mistakes in my certification. Answered everything the same as I always do. Said I was available all 7 days, looked for work, etc. No change in circumstances. So weird.

If you need to get through to NYSDOL, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in the same position last month and was getting desperate after days of busy signals. The service connected me to an agent in about 20 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. I'm actually going through the exact same thing, but this is my third week with no payment. Mine started as a "pending" status that never changed. I finally got through to someone yesterday who told me my account was flagged for an identity verification. Did you get any emails or messages in your account inbox? Sometimes they require additional documentation but don't notify you properly. Check your spam folder and your message inbox on the NYSDOL site too.

•They said they removed the flag but it could take 3-5 business days to process the backpayments. I'm still waiting! I'm crossing my fingers yours is just a holiday delay. The system is so frustrating.

My payment was a day late last week with no explanation, then suddenly appeared. The NY unemployment system is totally overloaded right now with the new claims processing system they implemented in January. I've heard they're having lots of technical glitches. My neighbor works for the state (not unemployment specifically) and said there's a lot of backend issues they're still working out with the new software. I wouldn't panic unless it goes beyond Thursday.

Just an update for everyone in this thread - NYSDOL just posted on their Twitter account that there was indeed a processing delay affecting some payments that were certified on Sunday. They expect all pending payments to be released by tomorrow morning. If anyone doesn't receive their payment by Thursday, they're recommending you call the payment processing line directly.
