NY unemployment payment missing from my account this morning - anyone else?
Did anyone else not get their NY unemployment deposit this morning? I always get my payment by 10am on Tuesdays but nothing showed up in my account today. My last certification went through fine on Sunday and the website still shows my claim as active. I called the automated line and it says my payment was 'processed' but nothing's in my bank account. Getting really worried since I have rent due next week. Anyone else experiencing delays today?

Yep, same here! Nothing hit my account this morning and I'm freaking out a little. Usually I get it by 9am but its almost 2pm now and still nothing.

•Good to know I'm not the only one, at least. Have you tried calling them? I've been trying all morning but can't get through.

There's a payment processing delay affecting many NY unemployment claims today. The NYSDOL posted about it on their social media this morning - said it's affecting direct deposits scheduled for Tuesday (today). They're saying payments should post by tomorrow morning, but some banks might take longer to process. No action needed on our part supposedly.

•Thank you! I didn't think to check their social media. That's a relief to hear it's a known issue.

•This happens like once every few months! So annoying how they NEVER notify us directly when there are delays. Some people rely on that money for FOOD and MEDICINE and can't wait an extra day!! The system is completely broken. Last time this happened it took THREE days for my payment to show up, not one.

•That's interesting. Maybe it's only affecting certain banks then? I'm with Chase.

I've been on unemployment since January and have learned that sometimes there are delays, especially around holidays or system maintenance periods. I checked the NYSDOL website and they do have a notice about system maintenance that happened this past Sunday night, which might be related to the delay. Usually when this happens, the money shows up the next day for me. If you don't see it by tomorrow afternoon, then I'd start to worry and try harder to contact them.

•Thanks for the reassurance. I'll try to be patient until tomorrow afternoon before panicking too much.

I've spent the last 3 hours trying to call the NY unemployment office to check on my missing payment too! Couldn't get through at all - just kept getting disconnected or told to call back later. Finally I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an agent in about 20 minutes. They confirmed there's a system-wide delay affecting Tuesday payments and said it should resolve within 24 hours. Their video demo shows exactly how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - saved me hours of redial frustration!

•I've never heard of that service before. Did you have to pay for it? Seems like it might be worth it to avoid the phone nightmare.

•Yeah, there is a fee, but honestly after spending half my day trying to get through, it was worth every penny to actually talk to someone. The agent confirmed my payment is actually processed and just delayed in posting to banks.

This is a systemic issue with how the NY unemployment payment system interfaces with different financial institutions. Direct deposits are sent in batches, and occasionally a batch will be delayed due to processing issues. Important things to know: 1. The delay is usually 24-48 hours maximum 2. You don't need to recertify or take any action 3. This won't affect your benefit amount or eligibility 4. If you have recurring payments scheduled, contact those creditors immediately to explain the situation If the payment doesn't arrive by Thursday morning, then you should contact NYSDOL directly as there might be a specific issue with your individual claim rather than the system-wide delay.

•This is really helpful information, thank you! I do have autopay set up for some bills so I'll contact them right away to make arrangements.

•The real problem is that NYSDOL KNOWS this happens regularly and does NOTHING to fix it!! In 2025 there's no excuse for a government agency to have such an unreliable payment system. People depend on this money for SURVIVAL and they treat it like it's optional when it arrives!!

Just as an update, my payment just hit my account about 10 minutes ago! Check yours, maybe it's coming through now.
