NYS Department of Labor unemployment payment missing - why did my unemployment not come today?
My unemployment payment didn't show up in my account today and I'm really confused. I've been getting my weekly benefits every Tuesday for the past 6 weeks without any issues. I filed my weekly claim on Sunday like always and it went through normally. Checked my payment history on my.ny.gov and it still shows 'payment pending' from yesterday. Is there some kind of delay going on with NYS Department of Labor payments right now? I really need this money for rent that's due tomorrow.

this happened to me last month and it was because of some system maintenance they were doing. took an extra day but the money came through. maybe check if they posted any notices about delays?

If your payment is showing as pending for more than 24 hours after your usual deposit time, there could be several reasons. NYS Department of Labor might be conducting a routine audit of your claim, or there could be a bank processing delay. Have you had any changes to your employment status or did you report any work income on your last weekly claim?

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago where my payment got stuck for no apparent reason. Tried calling NYS Department of Labor for hours but couldn't get through. ugh the payment delays are THE WORST!! happened to me twice already this year and both times it was just random system glitches that fixed themselves after a couple days. still super annoying when you're counting on that money though

Sometimes banks have their own processing delays too, especially if there's a holiday coming up or if you recently changed your direct deposit information. Have you contacted your bank to see if they're holding the deposit for any reason? Also worth double checking that your bank account info is still correct in your NYS Department of Labor profile.
