Where's my NYS Department of Labor unemployment check - payment missing for 2 weeks

I've been filing my weekly claims on time every week but haven't gotten my unemployment payment in almost 2 weeks now. My claim status still says active and I'm not seeing any issues or holds on my account when I log into my.ny.gov. Last payment I got was on January 8th and nothing since then even though I've certified for the weeks ending 1/12 and 1/19. Usually my direct deposit hits on Tuesday or Wednesday but this week nothing again. Anyone else having issues with NYS Department of Labor payments being delayed? I need to figure out where my unemployment check went because I have rent due.

Check your payment history section in your online account first. Sometimes there's a processing delay that shows up there before it hits your bank. Also make sure your direct deposit information is still correct - banks sometimes change routing numbers without notice.

Just checked and payment history shows 'issued' for both weeks but my bank account is still empty. Direct deposit info looks right.

Same thing happened to me last month! Turns out there was some kind of identity verification hold that didn't show up anywhere obvious on my account. Took calling NYS Department of Labor to find out what was going on.

How did you get through to them? I've been trying to call for days but keep getting the busy signal.

I had the same problem getting through to NYS Department of Labor on the phone. Someone told me about claimyr.com - it's a service that calls for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I used it when my payments got stuck and finally got answers about what was holding things up.

If your payment history shows 'issued' but you haven't received it, there might be a bank routing issue or your claim could be flagged for review. Sometimes NYS Department of Labor does random audits that freeze payments temporarily. You'll need to speak with someone to get the real story.

This is so frustrating! Why can't they just send an email or something when there's a problem instead of just stopping payments with no explanation???
